Picked mine up today. Currently in my house with one bar of service. My 3G always had full 5 bars. The thing about service being bad while holding it seems to be true. The display is awesome and the phone is fast.

Yeah I'm noticing weird fluctuations in the signal strength as well, from zero bars to 3, and its just sitting flat on my desk, but as soon as I go to make a call I get full bars.

The metal band IMO is one of cool things about the phone to cover it up with a dumb ass rubber bumper

It will reduce the interference caused by your hands touching the band, and will also protect the phone from scratches. I never understand why people don't get a little rubber protector for their phones. Mine usually take a beating, and without one will get scratched to hell. With a rubber case, my phone stays in pristine condition.

Some people don't want to ruin the natural aesthetics of there phone, & besides most phones are disposable these days anyway with upgrades coming every year or so.

ehhh, they made too many mistakes/ left too many things out of the Iphone 4.

The antenna being on the bottom left hand side and if you touch it, you lose service, what is up with that???

I might just wait and get the Droid X, haven't decided yet though.

For two weeks, Apple dismissed rumors of a faulty antenna in the new iPhone 4 as nothing more than scuttlebutt. Any phone has these problems, Apple officials said. Buy a case to fix it.

Friday, Apple came clean: The antenna works just fine. But the software that displays signal strenth doesn't. The company has been using a faulty formula to determine signal strength in its phones for years.

"Upon investigation, we were stunned to find that the formula we use to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display is totally wrong," Apple said in a letter from two executives posted on its website Friday morning.

So the formula has always been wrong... Apple is shocked... and AT&T's signal really does suck? Does that about cover it?

I have had mine since the day it came out and I love it. The signal problems will be reduced if you get a case or bumper for it. The coolest thing is how clear the display is and the facetime.
