I think my job is safe. I handle far too much for someone new to take on. Plus I do all the weird international escalation issues nobody else will touch.

Create a niche' and it tends to protect you. But this day and age, who knows.

I thought this too, until the place I worked at for 3.5 years decided to fire me when I asked for a raise. Came up with BS as to why I got fired, unemployment laughed at them and awarded it to me. Just watch out and keep options open anyway. I've read a lot of your posts over the years so I'm sure you have things in order.
