He's got two more seasons and a bonus option left. Unless he absolutely balls out this upcoming season, there's no reason to even consider negotiations until it's time for the bonus option.

No agent is going to have his player sign an extension only 2 years into the league.  The OP is hypothetical poo that on works when playing madden.

That’s what makes the hypothetical a gamble. Could win big. Could lose big. Personally, I think it’d be worth it to lock him in longer now and get the discount of projecting his growth. He’s 23. In confident by the time he’s 25, we’ll all be on board with him sticking around.

Yeah he will get paid way more if he shines but if the cap keeps going up his 50 million contract will be very doable. Plus we get to see how he turns out before breaking the bank.

At this juncture we have hope for the future but that's it. Absolutely no reason to even consider something like this right now. And it should also be pointed out the entire reason for trading up for a 22 year old QB is to get maximum value out of their rookie deal. We've already invested upwards of $150 million in the oline. Are there people out there that actually think we can afford to toss out a 100 million dollar contract and still somehow field a competitive team with a black hole on the defensive side of the ball a unit btw that just gave up the single season most points in league history?

I like Bryce and want him to do well and hope a year from now I’m regretting this but no way would I do it. Despite recent history he has more bad tape than good tape from a pro football perspective.

Nah next season is the key. If he cements himself as our guy I don't really care what we pay him because we will finally have our franchise guy.
