Panthers sign Norwood

I'm more curious to see which spot he plays more...LB or DE. I think this was a sleeper pick just like Edwards. Honestly I think in a couple years I think Norwood could become a Beason Jr

I asked him at OTAs earlier this month. He said LB, but they were going to move him around and "turn him loose" like they did at USC. I think the Panthers are replacing Peppers by committee-possibly creating a third down front seven, and I imagine the energy level on third downs will be intense.

I'm with you. It's really reassuring that, even if he doesn't crack the starting lineup (I don't think he will or should), the coaching staff wants to utilize this guy's talents by just "turning him loose." I like what I've heard about Norwood, and I'm really excited to watch him play.

I also agree with you that we'll be seeing a bit more blitzing from the linebackers this year. At the same time, I think Johnson and Brown will both do pretty well.

I'll say this -- we should have a really fast defense. Let's hope it works out.

Just to add on to the "yes" answer...anytime you take a QB and plan to turn him into a WR,thats usually a sleeper.Thats if Edwards can wake up on sundays. He's used to doing his work on saturdays
