It's a crummy time to have the worst game of your career, though.

See, this is the thing....for those of us who see his faults clearly and didn't make excuses, we feared his worst game coming at the worst possible time....and it did. All the "real" fans give us grief for worrying over the rainbows into double coverage while they excuse those throws as intentional (even so far as saying Jake works on those types of throws with certain receivers). To me that is the worst sort of blind homerism there is.

I get no pleasure in saying "I told ya so"....I would much rather not have had to cancel my hotel reservations & vacation time for next weekend.

IMO, this may be the worst loss in Panthers history....because of what would have been and the fact that I think we have the better team (obviously not on this day, but in general). Some might pick the Superbowl, but at least we were in that one to the end. I expected a Panthers win...not a blowout win, but a good hard fought win....and I sure as hell didn't expect to be blown out.

Thinking of some of the poo written here in the week leading up to the game just makes me want to laugh. Oh, the Cardinals are 0 for the East. We're 8-0 at home! Why would the Cardinals even be motivated to play? People wrote this poo and were serious about it. Unbelievable.

What a long drive back from the game... JUST A PATHETIC PERFORMANCE.

As far as Jake... I think he's been off for weeks. Jake had been struggling for the past few weeks.

I liked how Andy Reid benched McNabb to give him a wakeup call. Fox should have done the same to Jake after the Raiders game. I know we won, but we need to stop being so easily pleased after poor performances.

Imagine if Josh came out and looked good... Jake might have gotten his s*** together,.

He’s the most overrated quarterback in the league and I don’t just write that because he threw five interceptions against the Cardinals; I write that because he is. I realize we collapsed when Delhomme got hurt last year, but everyone made it sound like he was the missing link to the Panthers not going to the playoffs. But Steve Smith makes him look better than he is and the team’s outstanding running game masked his weakness this season.

It's time for a change. Thanks for the memories Jake, but it's over...

I think its time to start working on a new lineup. We've gotten so close to winning that super bowl and every time we get there something goes wrong. A superbowl team is consistent. We can't have a quarterback who is good one day and bad the next. I'm very sad at this loss and I've always took up for Jake when people bad mouth him but last night was crossing the line.

Where are the "But he is a nice guy, has done so much for the franchize, he did take us to the Superbowl!" people?

I am 50/50 on him. He can stay or go, wouldn't bother me either way. I do know that a strong defense will make any QB look like a HoF QB. ie Jake in 2003 and Dilfer in 2000. Fix the Defense and Jake will be good enough, since good enough is what Fox likes.

Thinking of some of the sh*t written here in the week leading up to the game just makes me want to laugh. Oh, the Cardinals are 0 for the East. We're 8-0 at home! Why would the Cardinals even be motivated to play? People wrote this sh*t and were serious about it. Unbelievable.

Preach on preacher man!

It's ok though we're just "Jake haters." Nevermind the fact that he has a lot of issues that has never been worked on as a QB, we just "hate on Jake."

I had to join this forum because misery loves company. I never was a big Delhomme fan. He was only tolerable when he played well and when bad?.....well you know the story. What was Jake seeing out there? Why did Fox abandon the running game especially after knowing Jake couldn't see a damn thing?. Did Jake have electro-shock therapy before the game? Did he celebrate his birthday too much friday night?. He looked more bewildered than usual out there. "F" Jake!
