If you don't care, then don't comment. I started to participate on this board and there are some very intelligent people making great comments. But this board has too many ignorant, sarcastic, peckerheads who think its funny to talk poo about everything--primarily other posters. If someone says something you disagree with, let them. Try opening your minds to some new perpectives instead of working on a zinger that will ridicule or degrade, I can only assume to inflate some ego that has been in crisis mode since you were publicly manhandled on a daily basis until the internet came along and provided your mouth some protection. It is childish, juvenile, and annoying. There. Instead of trying to be the sniper of sadistic wit, why not just yell, "Hey Ma! Where's that meatloaf!" to give your lives depth and meaning. Now, lets see who the first peckerhead is:

uuummm, being too serious is a death sentence. Remember it is June, the off season. Once August hits a lot of the BS comments go away or are handled, so calm down and go to the LL and get some release.

I wish him the best, always enjoyed his work.

And believe me, if a guy walks away from a job in journalism right now, he's gone for good. I've been out of the business for five years and there just aren't any new positions for writers coming. He's made a stand and quite a leap of faith.

True. You can get freelance work, but good luck getting a contract.

That kind of castgated statement is plain rude, crude and totally uncalled for.

I know Charles Chandler personally and he is a fine and upstanding person,as well as a good sports writer.

He would never in a million years make that type of disparaging remark toward you.

This tells me your character as well as your manners could stand some vast improvement.

poo, I think you have the impression this is a serious forum where manners matter beyond outright harassment of other members.

ETA: There are serious threads, but you have to remember people come here to relax. This is a sports forum, not a forum about astrophysics and quantum mechanics. We are not discussing string theory or debating the rulings of the supreme court and their impact on society.

Great writer but better person. I spent many a day talking with him on the sidelines and without a doubt one of the most approachable and ready to answer any of your questions reporters on the sidelines. Some have chips on their shoulders towards people they don't know, but Chandler was nothing like that. Best of luck to him in his new endeavors.

Probably, with some more from David Scott and Ron Green Jr.

Scott is basically their do all guy now. I wish they'd allow him more freedom, he's done some interesting stories in the past when allowed to.

Plus a new guy named Ryan something

Scott's no longer listed on the "Inside the Panthers" page. is he still there?

Yea, he's done the updates recently, signs them with his name. He's been covering everything since Poole passed away. Motorsports, football, soccer, basketball.

And Im supposed to care because?

And you don't care, but reply here anyway because...??

Best of luck to Chandler though. He done some good thing on writing some articles for the Panthers, even if it wasn't perfect. Hope you enjoy your retirement or whatever you're doing next, Mr. Chandler.
