Darin Gnatt thinks Kenny Moore will replace Smitty at the start of camp

The fact remains that you have to play with the cards you are dealt. Jarrett has had three years to show the coaching staff and the team that he's worth something, and he has not done so. Whether or not that has to do with Jake, the system, the depth, playing time, etc. is all really irrelavent. Guys who get limited opportunities and make the most of them are the ones who get roster spots and who get PT. Look at Tyrell Sutton...he was an UDFA who came in, got a chance to play and did very well. Now he has the edge on Goodson, a guy we drafted in the fourth round, because Goodson has shown nothing. Jarrett's days in Carolina are numbered, and if he wants to stay he will need to absolutely tear it up in training camp and pre-season. If I'm the coaching staff, I'm going to let go of the guy who has been nothing but mediocre in three seasons with the team and start over with a couple rookies, Lafell and Gettis, who look like they could turn out to be great NFL WR's. Either way, they can't possibly produce much less than Jarrett, can they?

Kenny Moore has been here for a shorter time than Jarrett. Shouldn't Jarrett know the system better?

Did I miss something or isn't Jarrett supposely starting right beside Kenny Moore at the start of camp? So what was your point? He didn't bet out Jarrett, he is there because Smith got hurt. Edwards would be a better choice to me then Moore, But he's a rookie working at WR/KO/KR/ maybe evn Wild Cat QB.

The last thing i'm going to say about Colbert for the people still trying bring his tarnished name up. Jarretts 1st year was '07, Colberts last year with Carolina "07, Was Jarrett suppose to do what ya'll think Lafell is going to do and take his job? After Carolina let Colbert go he play'd for three different teams in the same year and now he sells oranges. Great person to use as edvidence in your case.

You didn't see a bad passing game in '07? Really? Vinny and Carr made u happy?

I think he was talking about last year when Jarrett had already been here for 2 seasons yet Kenny, a rookie, got more playing time.

Ok I'm sorry it's just when you say no one else knows the playbook better than Moore it led me to believe that you actually meant no one else. Now I see you probably meant nobody but Jarrett knows the playbook better. It would help if you could put your thoughts down better.

You keep saying Colbert had a "half" season's worth of success but he played 15 games in 04 and produced way more than Jarrett ever has. Tons of rookie WR's come into the NFL with terrible quarterbacks and do just fine. Jarrett couldn't beat out the abysmal Keary Colbert. Whatever standards you use to say Colbert sucks must be different from the ones you use for Jarrett. Just admit he's your favorite.

You originally said that Jake was the main reason the passing game was bad for the last 3 years. I said I didn't see how Jake made the passing game bad as he was injured.

I need to put my thought down better? Because YOU didn't understand. I think I'll pass on that idea. Jarrett, My favorite? Compared to who? I respect his talent, Half of you think he's a bust. And that makes him my favorite? Colbert produced more as i have stated countless time because he was a start on day one and they actually made an attempt to get him the ball. The game time oppertunity isn't the same. Jarrett may have done himself in with a bad attitude or bad practices. What did Colbert in? If Jarrett sucks that bad why is he still on the team? Kenny Moore got more playing time? When? Moore was active for 6 games, he probably actually play'd in four. What exactly did he do in that time??? What? Will you complain if Lafell can't beat out Jarrett? Or will u just say he's a rookie and doesn't know the system yet? You see how weak that arguement is

What did Colbert in?

He was a one year wonder, that what did him in.

If Jarrett sucks that bad why is he still on the team?

Colbert was sucking after his rookie season & he was still on the team for another 2-3 yrs. See a pattern there?? Same for Foster & few other players we kept that weren't good anymore as the years went by. Face it, it's common many teams keep some terrible players for years until they find someone better to replace them. If LaFell & Edwards look better, Jarrett is likely gone.

I agree with a couple things you've said here...But are you saying now that it's the coaching staffs fault since they won't just let him go? So Jarrett sucks in your mind, But the coaches still want to keep him. Didn't they resign him to a one year deal this year...If he sucked why would they do that? Why not just bring Moose back?

They never signed him to a new deal.

Jarrett is in the last year of his rookie deal. He hired a new agent but it's the same contract. He fits the formula for personnel this season. Being cheap, young, and talented is going to help. There isn't any penalty for keeping him this year so it's worth it to see if 4th time is the charm. Doesn't look good but I hope it is.

They wouldn't bring Moose back even if he wanted to come back. Too old.

They are pretty high on Wallace Wright for his ST ability so Jarrett is going to be feeling some pressure from all sides. Jarrett didn't play ST his first year I don't know if he does now. Edwards and Lafell are almost guaranteed a roster spot unless they just go off the deep end. Moore has been given the nod over Jarrett in the past. Gettis needs a lot of work so he probably isn't a threat, but it wouldn't take a whole lot to outshine Jarrett as this pace.
