With the Smith injury, will we sign a vet at WR?

i don't see how we could start the season with DJ as our top guy. they will see how bad the break is and determine if we need insurance or not. i doubt we will get anyone.

Depends on Smith's timetable to comeback. If he is back in the first couple weeks of the season I don't see it. We don't need to add in a new vet to the core young nucleus. If you doubt this, see the QB, safety, fullback, dl and lb moves this past offseason.

Panthers beat writer Darin Gantt expects Kenneth Moore to take Steve Smith's (broken arm) place with the first-team offense in training camp.

He'd be getting the nod over promising rookie Armanti Edwards, indicating the Panthers are focusing on letting Edwards learn the slot rather than split end. While we don't have high hopes for Moore's fantasy stock, it's a big opportunity for the former Wake Forest Demon Deacon. Rookie Brandon LaFell will continue to push Dwayne Jarrett to start at flanker.
