Steve smith breaks arm!!!!!!!

I think it'll be fine he's worked with Moore before. I'm more concerned for Steve Smith, although this injury won't hinder his speed or his cuts you have to wonder when these injuries will take their toll. He's broken this arm twice now in basically the same area, he's had shoulder issues, hamstring issues, and we all remember his horrendous broken leg in 04 where I believe he tore some ligaments as well. I hope it's no big deal though.

Maybe this is why we have 9 other recievers on the roster right now. Trying to find the next Steve

It isn't whether Smith needs camp or not but with almost 3 months before the opening kickoff will he be ready for the season. Of course he would be better off being in camp but in a way this could be a blessing in disguise. If his arm was susceptible to reinjury I would rather it happen now when we have time for him to recover for the season opener that have him break it in the preseason and miss the first half of the year. There is never a good time for an injury but at least we have time to get him ready. I suspect that it won't take that long to get on the same page with Smith. It isn't like Moore is new. They should be okay as the season unfolds. The fact that Moore has chemistry with other guys as well will only help Smith not have to be the featured guy this year.

Damn, smitty. If ya wanted to take it easy during training camp, ya could have just said something! Lol

On the serious side, there is time for to heal, and be back at the start of the season. I also like that we'll now get to see a lot more of our younger guys, getting time in with out starters.

dammit....seems like every year we get bit like this! :mad2:

That is part of the reason I was complaining months ago about what happens when you get rid of so many veterans and then have our normal amount of injuries and issues which have been excesive the last several years. When a guy goes down like Smitty and you already let Moose go, you end up with someone like Jarrett being your most experienced WR in our system.

Good lord......................

Everyone calm the f*ck down. There are 12 weeks til the season opener. A typical broken arm takes half that time to heal. He'll be fine and probably ready to go before training camp is even over. The coaching staff will likely hold him out until the regular season to be on the safe side, but this is in no way an emergency.

I've got to be honest with you.

I think this will help Moore and Clausen out a ton, not to mention the young recievers. More balls to them and more chemistry. Smith will be back and won't miss a beat, but this gives guys like Jarrett, Rosario, King, Barnidge, and Lafell time to get a good rapport with both QB's.

Get well soon Smitty

And tell me. Moose is still good enough to replace steve smith?

Moose wasn't evven getting good enough numbers to remain a starter.

Love the guy. I would have liked him back to do the ricky proehl role, but at some point ya got to allow the younger guys play. Can't rely on old and slow.

As far as leadership, steve smith can still lead by example with his work ethic. And continue to give the other guys help.

    • KC has a very good defense this year. It is 5th overall. Yes, still worse than last year, but their offense is considerably worse. Their passing D may be their "weakness" but they still allow fewer than 20 ppg. BY completed several deep passes yesterday, and he was able to threaten downfield in ways he didn't seem capable of before the benching. I'm not necessarily worried about his ability to connect deep anymore. What to me was impressive was that he did all this without a run game. We used the pass to set up what little running success we had. Wild.
    • Solid and fair assessment.   I will say, one of the big things I noticed yesterday was that he wasn't shy to step up into the pocket in the face of pressure.  He's trusting the IOL.  And they took care of Chris Jones yesterday.  We had clean pockets but also good success rate vs. pressure which just hasn't been the case with Bryce.   If he has more confidence the OL gets it done and he can navigate and step up for throws, that's huge.  It's one of the biggest things that's held him back.  He was previously bailing quickly and just too easily throwing away or making dead plays.     He was finding his 2nd to 3rd reads within structure/without bailing in the pocket.  That was nice to see, as much concern I have with him.  And the overall limitations will always be there. Time to back it up this week against the Bucs.
    • Suddenly the Cowgirls look like our best chance for a win remaining. I think the Bucs are playing better than the Falcons of late.  Our lone game versus the dirty birds is in the ATL where we always struggle.  The Cardinals are marginally better than I thought they would be. We are not beating the Eagles, they are starting to roll. I'm saying two at most, next week at home versus the Bucs and the Cowgirls.
