As I said on the Twitter, I love both of those beers. The Sam Adams Double Bock is much more rich, malty and intense than most doppelbocks, and I love it for it. It's also got a slightly boozy quality to it, but sometimes I like that in a beer -- especially on these cold winter nights.

i kind of wish i had gotten it this weekend. i'm starting to see less dark beers at the teeter since warmer weather is in the near future.

I tried McSorley's Irish Pale Ale for the game. 6 for $7.99. Was pretty good but nothing special, and drinking 5 of them during the span of the game left me without a buzz. Typical for me now though. It sucks.

What did you end up having?

I'm glad you guys are having some good beers, because I'm not. I've had this horrible cough and sinus issues for the last week. I probably could drink, but I can't appreciate a beer like this.

By the way, Charlotte's getting two new breweries in the NoDa area later this year: Birdsong Brewing and NoDa Brewing Company.

Have tried some great brews over the past 2 months. Sam adams double Bock, dogfish head burton baton, ommegang rare vos, founders reds rye, samuel smiths oatmeal Porter, terrapins big hoppy monster, sweet water ipa, dogfish head 90 minute ipa,st bernardus abt 12 ,stone arrogant and double bastard. Thanks bb for getting me hooked to craft beers.
