I

Nope, I'm pretty thin. :P

I've said it before on here, but it's all about moderation. I'll usually have one beer a night, but I've been trying to skip beer some nights altogether. I'll have two or three maybe one night a week. But when it's all said and done, I average about a beer a day.

Which is good for you. ;)

I was just kidding with you.

But I do enjoy to have one or two a day myself. That or a nice single malt. Little flem cutter to take the edge off.

Do you mean Howl? If so, I have. I'm not a fan of most of Magic Hat's beers, but I thought Howl was a nice, drinkable black lager.

yeah that's it. My lesdyxia was getting to me.

My buddy tried to pawn a 6 pack off on me while saying it tasted like an ashtray.

You should have taken it! It's really not bad. It's got just a little bit of a roasty quality to it, but not much at all. It's not that overwhelming of a lager, but I think many people are intimidated because it's black (that's what he said).

Just had the sweetwater ipa at tacomac about to try my first dark beer ever sierra nevada jack and kens. Wish me luck

That's a black barleywine, so it's going to be very hoppy but also have a good bit of roast to it. Let me know what you think!

As for me, I had two beers tonight because my wife wants me to clear out all this beer I've been buying. The first was New Belgium's Frambozen, a brown ale brewed with raspberries. I felt it was well done, but perhaps a little too tart for my tastes. It would have been good with dessert.

Then I had a Leinenkugel's Big Eddy Russian Imperial Stout. I'll tell you, I wasn't expected that much. Leinenkugel is somewhat of a faux-craft brewery -- they're owned by MillerCoors, and more than anything make a lot of simplistic wheat beers. Nothing against them or those styles, I just didn't expect them to turn out some great stout.

Well, they did. That beer was very unique. It had a lot of smoke quality, the perfect bitterness, and just a really complex taste to it. I traded for it because it's not available in this area, but I really wish it was.

You too, sir! I'm glad you're finding some new beers. I've been on the journey only for a couple years or so, and I love it. It's addictive and I can get a bit obsessive about beer at times, but I do enjoy it.

I would definitely check out Sweetwater. If you want to branch out a bit, you guys also have Terrapin in Athens. They make some great beers as well. If you see them, try their Wake 'n Bake or Moo-Hoo. :cheers2:

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and consumed many tasty libations.

Last night with dinner I had a Great Lakes Christmas Ale, Anchor Our Special Ale (the best Christmas beer ever) and a Terrapin Moo-Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout. Then, when I got home and started playing some of the new Goldeneye on the Wii, I had a nice bottle of Bear Republic Black Bear Stout.

I'm going to have something good tonight, but I'm not sure what.

The other weekend, my friend had the bar at his house hooked up to a Highland Gaelic Ale keg...holy crap that stuff is good.

So, I decided to stock up on some myself. Fantastic beer

Yep, that was one of my first craft beers I tried while living in Asheville a few years back. I remember at the time thinking it was too bitter; now I think it's got a nice malty sweetness. It's funny how tastes change. Regardless, it is a good one!

I had two great beers yesterday: Schlenkerla Eiche ("Oak Smoke") Doppelbock and Great Divide Oak-Aged Yeti Imperial Stout.

Both were awesome. The Eiche was the smokiest beer I've ever had; far smokier than the other Schlenkerla beers. I'd had the regular Yeti and the Chocolate Yeti before, but I think I prefer the Oak-Aged Yeti to them both.

I'm going to dip into the stash and have something good tonight, though I'm not sure what yet. But with the weather the way it is, my bottle of bourbon is also calling my name.

I agree with it being funny how taste changes.

Yeti reg. is good btw, I posted about it a while back. Haven't tried the oak-aged one...may have to go look for it at Total Wine

I'm not sure if I've seen it there, but I know they had the Espresso Yeti.

If you want to try it on draft and are in the Charlotte area, check out Vintner Wine Market.

Took my wife out on a date last night and took her to the taco mac near my house and to a movie. I was actually disappointed with the beer menu so just went with something I knew and had the Sweetwater IPA that Im starting to really enjoy. I also tried the Abita Jackamo IPA but wasnt as impressed. it was very smooth but with a lot less flavor then the sweetwater. I wish there were some better bars with food around me where I live north of Atlanta.
