I have got to pick up that sampler pack soon. I love Old Fezziwig and Holiday Porter, and I'm looking forward to trying the Chocolate Bock for the first time.

Tried the Chocolate last night. Pretty good, but I can't drink more than one, but it was nice. Had it while outside with some buddies sitting by the fire pit.

One beer that I'm finally trying right now is this Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA...its gotten soo many awesome reviews I just had to get my hands on it...

Its not the best but damn good for an IPA and I'm not typically an IPA guy

That was the beer that got me into IPAs, and sort of craft beers in general. I was never an IPA guy before I tried it.

I still really enjoy 90 minute and pick it up pretty often.

BB...My brother in Hops!

Check out this place. Looks like a place Im going to be killing tomorrow afternoon. Aside from the nitro powered Old Rasputin any other "Gotta have its" on the list?

http://www.avenuepub.com/big_beer_list.htm

I'm jealous, as I have always wanted to have Old Rasputin on nitro. One day.

As for the rest of those beers, it seems they have a lot of locals (NOLA and Lazy Magnolia beers), which I've not had.

I know you like a lot of the IPAs and DIPAs, and I do like the Harpoon Leviathon they've got.

In the bottles, the Sinebrychoff Porter is a pretty good choice.

But if I were you, I'd try some of the locals, as most of those other beers can be found here in the Carolinas. Or I'd try some of those nitro stouts, but that's just where my preferences lie.

Have fun, and let us know what's good down there!

Anybody plan on drinking anything good (beer or otherwise) this Thanksgiving?

I always fill like such a drunk when I drink around my wife's family. They are awesome people and don't care at all if I drink, but no one else really does so I always feel strange. Anyway, I just might bring some sort of Belgian Strong Dark Ale over.

If you guys have a Trader Joe's nearby, you might consider picking up the Trader Joe's Vintage Ale. It comes out every year and is brewed by Unibroue, who makes some great Belgian-style ales. A corked-and-caged 750mL bottle is only $4.99.

I've got a bottle of last year's still, so I'll probably pick up a couple of this year's as well. I've also got a sixer of assorted pumpkin beers leftover from Halloween, so I'll probably have a couple of those as well.

How about making us some T'giving beer? I heard you got the ingredients

Ha! I have the equipment, but no ingredients.

I've been putting off homebrewing for far too long. I intended to start around this time last year, so that I could brew a really big beer (like an imperial stout) and have about a year on it before Christmas.

So much for that.

But I'm wrapping up some of the wife's requests around the house, so now I think I am officially permitted to start brewing.

Permitted? SMH

Ha!

It's really my fault, to be honest. I told my wife I wouldn't start brewing until we had finished remodeling the bedroom. For whatever reason, I've slacked off on that over the course of a whole year and just now have it done.

Of course in that time, I got her pregnant. So now I have a whole nursery to do as well. :P
