Im actually saving it for a special time. I went and played some poker last night so didnt get a chance. trust me after I drink it you will be the first to know.

Awesome. Nothing wrong with saving beers like that for a special occasion. I have quite a few that I'm doing the same with.

Actually, I recently picked up the St. Bernardus Christmas Ale recently:

I found that glass above at a Goodwill recently for a buck! (Though that's not my photo.)

I have a St. Bernadus glass, too. (Saucer glass night)

remember not thinking much of it.

Donate it to Goodwill and let me buy it for a dollar. :P

My glassware collection is starting to get a bit out of hand. I actually had to give away some glasses because I was running out of room (my wife graciously allows me one shelf for beer glasses).

In my experience, expensive beer =/= good beer.

I spent an ungodly amount (something like $18 for a 6 pack) on some English beer, can't remember the name. Had one bottle, and ended up giving the rest of it to my British buddy.

But on the flip side, there's beer like Baltika which is like $9 a bottle, that's in my opinion, among the best in the world.

That's true: good beer can be had as low as a dollar a bottle, I'd say (Trader Joe's contract-brewed beers).

What Baltika are you getting for $9 a bottle? The only Baltika I routinely buy is their #6 Porter. It's not the best example of a Baltic porter out there, but you cannot beat the price. I want to say it's right around $2 for a big 22 oz. bottle of it.

I didnt buy just for that fact. I saw reviews on it and noticed it at whole foods yesterday. So I thought I would try it.

I don't think I've ever used it. I too have a large beer glass collection that needs to be thinned.

I usually prefer Baltica #6 and #9, and #2 but that's effing impossible to find. And it's actually $9 at the bar. When I get it at the store here it's about $5 a bottle. Where are they selling it for $2? I'll have to bring a crate down to Carolina and buy a gross.

I wouldn't assume that was the only reason, I was just remarking. But in either case you've earned it, Mr. Mod

you cuckolded censor of the people, you!

I get the #6 at Total Wine & More. Like I said, I think it's $2-$2.49 for a 22 oz. bottle.

I've really been getting into Baltic porters as of late. I wish more breweries made them. Foothills in Winston-Salem makes a good one, but it's $15 a 22 oz. bottle!

As large as my collection is, I always seem to use just a few of the glasses over and over.

I have a brandy snifter that I use most often -- especially with stouts. For most IPAs or lagers, I'll go to the Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass. I like my dimple mug for brown ales, doppelbocks and occasionally stouts.

The rest of the glasses just don't get much use, unless I'm having something from the brewery or a style that requires a certain glass (like a wheat beer or hefeweizen, for instance).
