Redskins waived DE Greg Peterson.

The Redskins were trying to convert Peterson from a defensive tackle into a defensive end. Apparently, the transition didn't go over so smoothly.

Just thought I'd mention him because he's huge 6'5, 315lbs and is a NC native from NCCU. Wouldn't be surprised if we took a look at him.

Local guys get a huge advantage especially when they're in the lower tier. Any DT depth is a good thing, in an uncapped year it won't be a big deal to eat a one year contract.

I actually think we had him in camp before - his first year out of NCCU. He was actually playing as a WR/TE at that time and was a little bit lighter, lol... Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure we had him in here and let him go, so I doubt we bring him in.

The guy is huge and VERY athletic though, so I'd still like to give him a shot, but he's a longshot to make it...

Injury prone and not all that good. A long shot at best but could be a good camp pickup. His biggest upside is geographic familiarity. Would hate to build the dl around this attribute.
