Your opinions please...

I would like your opinions on some wagers I have with a Bears fan. We were going back & forth about Cutler's interceptions and this guy tried to tell me Cutler was not going to throw 20 int's this season. So I proposed a bet and took the over on that.

He then tried to tell me how good the Bears passing offense will be. Mike Martz, blah, blah..So I again took the opportunity to place a wager. With a 1/2 gallon of Capt.Morgan on the line, I said the Panthers will finish with a better passing offense than Chitown. I told him I dont even know who our #2 reciever is yet, but whoever it is they'll make us better than da Bears.

So, in your great football mind Huddle I ask you if you think these are smart wagers. What say yous?

I'd say taking the over on Cutler's 20 ints is a good bet.

The second one, I'm not so sure about. It depends on what you meant by better passing offense. If you're talking total yards or total TDs then I'd say no, you made a bad bet. Luckily Captain Mo's is cheap so no big deal.

However, if you were talking yards per attempt or QB rating or something else based on efficiency then I'd say the panthers have a good chance.

Your pretty safe with the first bet.

The second one though, as much as I expect our passing offense too be improved, we'll still be balanced. With martz as their oc, they will pass more than running. Those extra passing attempts should pad their stats. I suppose it depends on what you and your buddy are using to measure the passing attack.

P.S. try Sailer Jerry spiced rum. It's stronger, smoother, and has better flavor than the captain.

Cutler threw more than 20 INTs for the first time last year. It is not guaranteed he will do so again given Mike Martz's systems relies on the short pass and timing routes. They are hard to pick. He certainly may but it is not a lock.

As for the second one, you are likely to lose. As Faultless said we will likely be more efficient and may have more yards per attempt for example but Chicago will have more total yards which is what most folks consider as the stat which proves whose is better. Now if you go by passer rating Moore may be higher than Cutler, but Chicago will throw for more yards. If you extrapolate what Moore did for five games to a whole season, Cutler threw for more yards last year without Martz. This year he will throw for over 4000 yards.

If we end up close to the top 5 teams in the league in passing yardage, Fox & Davidson will both need to have their sacks slit , their legs hung through, and forced to do windsprints on their knee caps.

PS: Think about it, catch the visual, & I'm sure you'll LOL.

I highly doubt Cutler throws 20 INTs this year so you fuged that up IMO.

I do think the panthers will be better at the passing game but most likley, not by much.

Sometimes (especially when making bets) you have to forget about how much you love a team, cut the attachments, and think realistically.

So I would bet him that Pepper's play will not be worth 20+ million for the year and since no one is worth that you've already won.
