Darius Miles attempting NBA Comeback, maybe with the Bobcats

Recommended Posts

Source: Winnipeg Free Press

On the same day as Game 7 of the NBA finals, Darius Miles is running the floor alongside several players who have never been in the NBA and perhaps never will.

It was hardly the place for a former No. 3 overall pick in the draft. But following what was once called a "career-ending" knee injury and off-court problems, Miles is determined to overcome the rustiness and his balky knee to play in the NBA again.

If it requires being a grunt in the Charlotte Bobcats' obscure free-agent camp the same week the league crowns a champion, so be it.

He is trying out for the Bobcats right now. Or he was yesterday. Brown said he was healthy and looked good. He also said he has always wanted to coach him.

edit: Opps. Did you edit the Bobcats part in or did i completely miss it?

"My body is back," he said after a workout at Time Warner Cable Arena this week. "It's been three, four years since I've been healthy. This time I took off I really just kind of worked on getting my body healed."

Charlotte's Brown never forgot about Miles, whose long, athletic frame feeds Brown's craving of players who can play multiple positions.

"It's been 10 years I've been trying to get him in a gym," Brown said. "Finally did it."

How freaking old is this guy?

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
