I've been through Joe Pendry's completely unimaginative offenses. I've watched Rodney Peete struggle under center, and I've sat through some pretty miserable seasons. But I've never, ever seen an offense as ill-prepared to face a defense as I did tonight. It's not as if we were just outplayed, we were severely outcoached. Even last year, when we went through our quarterback carousel, the offense clicked better than it did today.

A lot of people are going to blame Jake for our ineffectiveness tonight. But how do you explain the lack of production from our running game? Where were the screens and underneath routes to take advantage of what Arizona gives up to everyone? Who called all the plays over the top to Smitty, and why did they continue to be called after it was obvious that Arizona was following Seattle's playbook from 2005? Seriously, what the HELL happened to the running game?

Yeah, a lot of people will blame this on Jake, but Joe Montana wouldn't have been any more effective with the plays called tonight. Please go back to the Browns. You suck at playoff football, and that's unacceptable.

A great deal of it IS Jake's fault. I've stuck up for him for years, but tonight was ridiculous. BUT, that being said, I believe a great deal of his execution goes hand-in-hand with the plays being called. Look at what the Cardinals were doing. Long crossing routes, screens, slants, mixing in the run.

Look at ours... Toss, toss, toss. Toss, draw, pass = int. It's the same mundane, vanilla sh*t every week. I said in the other thread, his play calling almost gave away about 3 games this year, with the Saints being the most recent... Tonight it bit us in the ass, to the point we couldn't recover.

Turd is an idiot, but the defense would still be able to do a little something just off talent, if they weren't on the field for almost 20 minutes in the first half.

Blame Jake if you want, but where was the running game? We ran all over the Giants, are you telling me the Cards have more talent on defense? If it was all Jake then you would see us having success on the ground.

Jake has a track record of success in the playoffs. Coaches manage their players and put them in a position to succeed. After the second interception tonight, there were no adjustments and no changes to the play-calling. I believe this is on Davidson.

Just curious, if you think this is all on Jake can you explain why we pretty much did the same thing in the second half after our lack of success in the first?

I never thought I would really miss Henning, but after that abortion of an offensive showing I sure do now.

and just as much on Trgo. The cards scored at will. Haha the only thing that did run half ass right was ST and I have wanted Crossman's head on a stick for a while.

Blame goes to, in this order:

#1 - Davidson - Why the hell are you calling a QB Bootleg when the pocket hasn't been collapsing? Why so many pass plays?? Especially on 1st down... ESPECIALLY on 1st and 5!!!

#2 - Jake Delhomme - Bad day to turn 34. Also a bad day to have your worst ever day in your career.

#3 - Trgo - For our defensive ineptitude. We looked like fish out of the water in the 1st half. We didn't know WHAT was going on or WHAT TO DO!!??!

#4 - John Fox - Whenever you would like to manage a game, please let somebody know.... When your QB has committed 4 turnovers in a playoff game, it is time to put in the backup. No questions asked.. Perhaps Fox should've pulled an Andy Reid and benched Jake for a game... Sometimes in order to take a step forward you have to take a step back.. Sick of his BS post game talk also.
