The Raiders Dline is huge.

they switched to a 3-4. so if Houston pans out...yeah they have the best 3-4 d-line in the NFL. I think if the Raiders have an offseason and draft like they did this year next year...they will be playoff contenders.

The raiders are sticking with a 4-3.

The Raiders are trying to replace Gerard Warren, released in March. Henderson is expected to play alongside Tommy Kelly in Oakland's 4-3 base alignment.

They have defense, but they kind of always have a defense. They just field the worst offenses in the league.

the run game isnt the worst. Darren McFadden needs an o-line, and Michael Bush just needs the ball in his hands at all times and he could be the next Jerome Bettis. If Jared Veldheer, their 3rd rd pick, is a beast and starts at LT, their vertical passing game could be one of the best in the league especially with all the speed they have out there. Darrius Heyward-Bey, Louis Murphy, Jacoby Ford, and Johnnie Lee Higgins.

This is what happens when you've had a Top 5 pick in every years draft since the Clinton administration.

Even for the Raiders under Al Davis' control, having the #1 or 2 draft pick every year they are eventually gonna have a team full of talent... eventually. It's just taken them a decade+, cause unfortunately for them those "top" draft choices dont always work out for the best. Sad thing is, this season, their offense is still probably gonna finish in the bottom third of the NFL and Tom Cable is still a complete nutjob so thats gonna squelch any playoff hopes they may have had coming into this season right there.

Just somthing interesting in the offseason.

All of this for a base 4-3 defense.

Lamarr Houston LE-6-3,305

John Henderson DT-6-7,335

Tommy Kelly DT-6-6,300+

Richard seymour RE-6-6, 310

Those guys should be stout against the run but i wonder how much pressure they will put on the passer. None of them are all that quick or agile. Most of them are more used to 2 gap contain then they are 1 gap attack.
