His game against USC imo was better than Bowers' best... and to say that I was high on Bowers is an understatement. Warren is a better blocker that I believe (hope?) won't need the usual spin-up times that TEs need.

Final stat line from Warren vs. USC... 17 catches for 224yds, 1 rcv TD, 1 rushing attempt for 4yds, 1 COMPLETION for 9yds (lol). Averaged 13.2yds.

He had a fun game vs. Purdue as well. Those two games sold me on him in the top 10.

You draft Warren and he’s a guy that becomes a focal point of an offense.  That type of TE doesn’t come along often…him and Brockers coming out in back to back years is an aberration.

Will say, I don’t think Loveland is far behind either but the short of it is that Warren completely changes an offense. It’s pretty appealing.  Jeanty is the only other offensive skill player that could have that type of immediate impact IMO. McMillan, Loveland, Burden, Hampton, Egbuka just aren’t at THAT level of impact+value.

It’s a tough call when you’re void of pass rush talent, and there’s good options (Walker, Pearce, Green) but then have a guy like Warren potentially there for the taking.

still waiting on all those mock drafts that show him going in the 2nd

******hint - go to your history and search for these said mock drafts, I will wait

your words

Love how the consensus on here is a player I've regularly seen fall into the 2nd round in mock drafts but everyone here is sold on him at #8.

I don't see any of the other "projected Top 10" guys falling into the 2nd in any mocks, sure maybe some fall into the mid teens or even early 20's, but that's the furthest I think I've seen any of them fall.

Damn. Wonder if they're credible? If that's the case then Jalon Walker moves to #1 for me.

He has been accused once in highschool and once in college. Not a good look. I wouldn't want him on my team.

I was the same way until recently. Unless there's some major character red flag I'm not aware of I think he's been hugely underrated. Best pure pass rusher in the class, IMO.

Interviews are huge for Green.  I agree people can change and make dumb decisions, but he was straight up kicked out of a program and had to leave UVA.  That just doesn't happen for a one time minor offense.

It's why I've been cautious with getting excited about him.  If he checks out with teams, he could go quite high.  If he seems like a kid with some issues, then there could be a nosedive.

Did anyone see Morgan's interview with our commentator fella? The way he described what he wants in interior DLine to me thinks we wouldn't take Graham if he's there

I feel like we may be more preferential to guys like Grant, Tyleik, Norman-Lott, & Collins in this draft.  Need a real brute force in the trenches, probably even more so than an edge guy.

Honestly, I lean more trenches than the standing edge talent, especially if we're talking the types that need some run-d refinement.  Which is basically all of them after Carter & Pearce.  Heck, and even Pearce needs some work.

While we're talking about our sleeper/faves, Kenny Grant is the one that could sneak up boards and I honestly think is the one being super overlooked.

That size & athleticism with legit pass-rush skills in the middle of a DL doesn't come around often and I don't see him sitting long to hear his name called come draft day.  He did it for a major program, was a key piece to that 2023 defense, and he'd be a really good fit between Brown & A'Shawn.  That's a plug and play cog.

How will projections and upside make him grow 3 inches taller? Again, I like Walker. Just not at 8. Too much of a tweener. That's coming from a guy who has watched a lot of his game film, not just his highlight tapes. I like my top 10 picks to have the proper physical traits. As Bill Parcels said “Big men win you football games” I’d like to stay away from the exceptions, not the rule. I’d rather just sign a guy like Nick Bolton in FA to play ILB even if we have to overpay a little bit. He would be perfect

Ideally, we need  a pure edge at #8. There is no edge prospect at 8 that is worth the pick. It would be a major reach So, then what? Daft BPA at a position that makes sense for the team. Johnson, Tet, Warren would be those guys in my opinion.

But since the Panthers always draft on potential and upside, I fully expect Jalon Walker to be the pick. If so, I hope he becomes a stud. I’ll gladly eat my crow if he turns out to be the player a lot of you think he will become. At the end of the day, I just want to see this team win.

I don't know how Walker will end up. I know he's got real long arms, that makes you taller in a sense. He's around 245, you know with age you add weight. Im a size queen as well, but I also toss that aside if you can get the job done. I mean all-world DT darnold was barely 6'1 and one of my all-time favs John randle barely stayed above 260....but they still caused havoc and did their job. Georgia has been the best team at turning out players the last couple years, Walker is among their best.

Think 2 years from now, Walker is in the 265 weight range playing edge next to dbrown.....That side of the OL is in for a nightmare each snap. He's still got his coverage skills form LB days, but he's evolved into playmaking edge.(the hope)

I disagree with no edge being worth the pick, there's about 5 edges I wouldn't mind at 8 including walker. Cause if you are drafting him that high, the plan must be edge.

You are right about about Panthers draft habits, here's another I learnt over time. Even since Shaq Thompson, they like youngest players when the first pick happens(most years). DJ Moore, ickey, BY, Horn, burns, brown were among the youngest in the class. Walker is a young 21......in fact he just turned 21....
