Albert Haynesworth Demands Trade; Refuses to attend mandatory minicamp

The Panthers wouldn't have to pay him anywhere close to $100 million.

Whatever though. I can't think of any available player at any position that would upgrade this team as much as Haynesworth would. It's not because our DT's suck either...he would have been just as big of an upgrade if Kemo, Thomas, and Lewis were still here. He is just that much better than they are. There is no question about that.

My concern with DT is depth. What happens when the inevitable happens and either Leonard or Tyler is injured? We have Irvin who hasn't even played an NFL snap or Johnson who sounds like has taken up permanent residence in Bakers doghouse (Hayden doesn't even deserve a chance in TC IMHO). Everyone else has scrub written all over them.

Typical Hurney always reactive never proactive.

I recall when Al went to Washington....we had some anger around here because folks wanted the FO to be a player in the courtship of Albert H. Now it comes to light that being the highest paid DT in history ain't enough for Al. He now wants to be the D.C. in DC.

Have folks forgotten that we made an offer to Peppers to be the highest paid defensive player in history and he turned it down? Is there any reason to believe that Al is going to be a reasonable candidate for our DL and FO at this point?

This goes way beyond the lockout. There are few players who rise to the HOF level....drifting from team to team to cash in isn't a common denominator....I'd comb through the SB winners to see if any team went over the top by signing such a "player" but I'm thinking it's a waste of time......In other words, I'd pass on Albert....

it would be nice but you guys need to get over it because there is no way jr is handing out the $, even if it is manageable and even if it does make sense and even if it will help our team immensely...becasue he has a slight attitude problem and isn't smitty and also he is over 30 which is a huge no no when your team already lacks vets.

makes perfect sense.

I agree with him refusing to practice. It's as if your job gives you commission for every car you build, yet you work at a motorcycle factory.

oKay, this selfish prick was signed, yes initially for the 4-3. News to A. Hayneworthless, things change! The Redskins even offered him to pay back part of his $$$ before his April 1st payday and they would release him, thus, him knowing of the changes to 3-4, but yet, he took the dang $$$, so stfu and either pay (back) or play. Also, I would never want this lazy, selfish, fat, every other down player, here.

Your point would be valid if it was... valid. Sure, he is going to make a ton of money, but he won't get close to that $100 million if he can't perform and get the incentives.

He took a $21 million check in April and is not showing up for a mandatory minicamp. My point is valid.

I understand why he's upset as I would be in his position since he's not leveraged to gain all his incentives. He took a 20% of that $100M in April. That's still a crap load than I ever will see in a lifetime. That was my point.

It's a game, not real life.

Al was a great D T

W A S

Al has been paid now and is showing he is all about the $$

Gilbert held out and got paid and never was the same player.

Big Al will do the same !

Just my Opinion

Same as the opinions that Big Al as a Panther would be the greastest thing since peanut butter

Just Opinion

Haynesworth may be an asshole and I agree that he probably won't end up here, but he is still a very good player. He had 37 tackles and 4 sacks in only 12 games last year, and that was after he signed that big contract. Plus, his impact went way beyond the numbers, which is why the Skins defense fell off so much after Haynesworth gut hurt. By comparison, Kemo didn't record a single sack or even get a significant QB hurry the whole time he was with the Panthers. It is very very rare to find a guy that big who can stop the run and rush the passer effectively.
