Adrian Peterson pulling a Favre?

He skipped a 3 day minicamp to attend a 1 day parade in his hometown. Only with Peterson, Childress speaks out about it in the media criticizing AP for not being there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Favre sign a 2 year contract with the Vikings? And he has not retired again... yet, so he's still under contract. I wonder if he had a clause in there that he is not required to attend offseason programs? At any rate, there's definitely a messy double standard that has been applied in the Vikings camp and now we are starting to see the ripple effect of the Favre. The Favre effect. I think Childress has lost a lot of credibility in the locker room with his team because of his kid gloves with old GreyBeard. Stay tuned to this.

Favre gets an exception because this is Childress' last chance to win a SB with him. Peterson is seen as having a long future with the Vikings. So it is more important that Childress discipline Petersen than worry about Favre. Everyone knows that Favre is the exception to every rule. He will be gone in a year or two and Peterson will still be there.

Players know that certain guys get special treatment, just look at how the Panthers treat Smith. Happens with every team and doesn't really destroy the locker room as long as the guy delivers.

Now it sounds like Percy Harvin is pulling a Favre.

Here is what we know:

The grandmother of Minnesota Vikings receiver Percy Harvin died two weekends ago.

Harvin has missed a total of 14 practices over the ensuing eight days, most recently Monday morning at Minnesota State, Mankato.

When I asked coach Brad Childress when Harvin was expected to return, he said: "I thought he was going to be back today. I'm not sure. It's on its own time."

Speaking at about the same time, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell told reporters that Harvin is dealing with "some personal issues."
