Twisted Metal First Look From IGN

Twisted Metal will have a full single-player campaign, but that's not what was on display at the show this year. Instead, the developers wanted to draw attention to the 16-player multiplayer support, where all sorts of explosive carnage hits the unsuspecting suburbs of the United States. In Twisted Metal, players will be fighting as different factions, instead of specific characters like in past Twisted Metal games. This allows players to identify with a group of characters (like feeling loyal to a clan) but also grants them the freedom to play as any vehicle.

MotorStorm Apocalypse preview:

-- the gist here is that the MotorStorm racers have moved in on a city that's in chaos. A devastating earthquake rocked this California town, the locals evacuated, the crazies stayed and the government is moving in. At you race through this warzone, you're going to need to deal with tremors, fires, the aforementioned crazies, and a world that's constantly changing.

LBP 2 Preview from E3

During my E3 demo, I got to see a few ways the tools of LittleBigPlanet 2 hope to change the way you play as Sackboy. For starters, vehicles are going to be more important than ever. Sackboy began a level where he needed to make his way into a computer. Starting on the desk, Sackboy made his way past some shiny soda cans and desk items before climbing on a hairy bird; you know, that fuzzball creature from the trailer. The bird gilded through the air and pooped out little pellets before leaping onto a dragonfly-looking thing and blasting some baddies with bullets he was firing out of the creature's eyes.

These side-scrolling shooters are apparently going to be a snap to whip up. You can fly along and blast whatever you or the community makes.

Ghost Recon Update from E3

Future Soldier takes place about ten to fifteen years in the future, giving the Ghosts access to technology that is currently only in the experimental phase. This means that on top of weapons that are far too devastating, the Ghosts will have access to tech like optical camouflage, which essentially grants the player limited invisibility. In the demo the camo was used extensively to sneak up on enemies and perform stealth take downs, sometimes at a distance, and sometimes up close and personal (something that would have been suicide in previous Ghost Recon games). It dramatically changes up the pacing from the previous games, which generally were only stealth in so much as you didn't make any sound until all hell broke loose.

But, of course, hell still does break loose in Future Soldier, and to get through intense firefights a new cover system has been added to the game. The player generally runs around in a third-person perspective, but when they enter into cover -- or aim down their sights -- the game switches to first person. This is done to give the player more precise aiming, as well as make the game feel more realistic when the player is walking and aiming (real special operations soldiers always walk slowly if they're walking while aiming). Cover is also partially destructible now, forcing players to keep moving rather than just camping in a single spot. Overall the cover system seems to work well enough for the people playing, but I'm curious to finally get a chance to try it out for myself in the future since I always kind of enjoyed the strictly third-person perspective the GRAW games implemented.

you are reading way too much into it

yes they wasted money and man hours for a port that already had multiple disks

im sure that if it was an integral part to the game they would have added another disk because it would be more wasteful to just throw it out

and for a game that size the amount of stuff that didnt make it would be proportionally large as well

typical ps3vs360 crap

So you admit they took out content so they didn't have to add other disks.....thanks thats all I needed.....

Yeah you pretty much did.....but thats neither here nor there, they removed content that was in the PS3 version after it was announced it would be ported.....not really sure why you're assuming it wasn't because of DVD-9 limitations.....

Farwell RROD, you will not be missed.

The newly remodeled Xbox 360, announced at E3 this week, will never show the three red lights of death. Ever.

That doesn't mean the system won't ever break, of course. It just means that Microsoft's redesign has done away with that messaging system to let the user know that their console had bought the farm. In an interview with Phil Spencer, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft Game Studios, it was revealed to IGN that the new design has a different way to communicate any potential hardware failures.

Can't we comment on the great games being shown on the floor right now. I've posted an update about most of those. FF13 was last year, this is the year of LBP2 and GR and so forth.

I had no problem commenting on the games from e3, not really sure why people want to attack me because I want ffvsxiii to stay exclusive.....
