You'd be amazed at how well babies bounce after being dropped. Everything all these people said plus education toys. Babies brains develop based on the amount of stimulation they receive. If you want a smart kid, push the education crap as early as possible. My wife and I did this with our daughter and she was reading before kindergarten.

I think we, as men, are supposed to be scared as heck before the first one arrives. If you're a good man, you work at it and try hard to overcome that fear. If you're a boy, and not a man, you run for your life.

Get up and give the baby a bottle in the middle of the night, that's some great bonding time. Change the poopie diapers, too. Man up and do it, don't be the guy that'd let your kid sit in a pile of sh*t because you think it's too gross or that it's woman's work. Read to your kids every day and answer their questions. Ask them questions, too, lots of questions, even if they are just two or three... it will develop their minds and language skills. Don't baby talk to them and keep some band-aids handy.

Lastly, keep Mama happy. If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Stash two Hershey chocolate bars around somewhere. Trust me, she's going to have a break down or two. Just rub her shoulders, let her cry it out and give her the chocolate bar. You'll be a prince in her eyes for a little while.
