Davis apparently trusts the team doctors and the rehab process

Much has been rumored about how the front office rushed Davis back and there have even been some concerns that the surgery may have been botched since he got reinjured without any contact.

Davis did get a second opinion from renowned orthopedist James Andrews. Apparently the consultation also was to determine whether there was anything wrong with the surgery or the rehab. While it isn't clear exactly was discussed or said, it is of note that instead of Davis having the surgery by Andrews which is what Stewart did, he is having team doctor, Pat Connor do the surgery. He was the doctor who did the first one as well. When he has Connor direct the team trainers and PTs through the rehab again that at least suggests to me that he is fine with the way things went the first time. And his consultation with Andrews must have satisfied in his mind any concerns about the first process and the way things were handled or he would have made a change. Since the doctor in charge is also in charge of the rehab, it would apprear that Davis has no problems with the way Connor orchestrated things the first time.

So at least in my mind, all the rumors about rushing him along and not performing the surgery properly seem to be way overblown.

Other thoughts??

The company line...

To be honest...We will never really know...We can only take their word as their word...

NOt true. If Davis is unhappy with his initial surgery or the rehab he would be certainly able to have someone else do the surgery who would obviously direct the rehab as well. That has happened before so it not unique. It just shoots the whole conspiracy theory you brought here as fact all to hell. If he has Connor do the surgery again it is the best indicator that he trusted him the first time and is doing the same this time as well. Otherwise why would he have a doctor do the surgery again and direct the rehab if he didn't trust the process the first time?? He doesn't have to use team doctors and it isn't unusual for players to use Andrews or other guys instead.

You may be right, but to assume one way or the other which I get from your response is contradictory.

I'll take the words from people in the know, rather than the assumptions from people far away, such as 99.999% of the posters on this forum.

He reportedly does know someone in the organization. That really isn't the issue. I am sure that there are people and players who believe Davis was hurried back just like people on the message board believe that to be true. But even players believing that doesn't make it true. And certainly Davis apparently isn't unhappy with the front office or he would getting the surgery elsewhere and having them dictate the rehab. There are a number of players who get second opinions and have other surgeon's not employed by the team do the work. I actually wouldn't have a problem with that either. I just don't see that being the case based on Davis's actions. And I really doubt we would risk injury by bringing him back early to appease fans. That kind of accusation has lawsuit written all over it.
