Roy Halladay has been a badass for years. He just played in Toronto. He'd have a cabinet of Cy Young awards if he had played for a good team in a big market for longer.

Maybe the game's best sluggers will pick it up towards the latter half of the season. The pitching has certainly been phenomenal.

Supposedly the crackdown on amphetamines has had an even bigger effect than the one on steroids. All three perfect games came against teams that were on the last day of a six-day road trip. No uppers to get them up for that last game on the road.

Well I won't act like fatigue didn't factor into it, but I'm not sure if I completely buy the amphetamine thing. Did players use those back in the 1890's?
