My plan to make soccer watchable

500 points is as much as the rams have scored in the last 2 and a half seasons... ouch

The best offense of all time was actually the 1950s Rams, and no one is close. They called it the Point a Minute offense.

The Rams have obviously redefined suckage since Martz left. But the new coach will have them back in the playoffs.

Meat have you ever watched a movie with subtitles and understood it? Or did the little words get in the way?

You guys act like there is some mystical aura about soccer. There's not. And there's a very good reason that it never has caught on here in America despite a million attempts to make it work.

Ninety minutes for 1-0, 2-1, or, if you're lucky, 3-2 games. And many of the goals are scored accidentally.

It's a fun sport to play. It's poo to watch.

It hasn't caught up because we only love about 10 other sports here. We put the la in ala carte. We want our choices.

We don't like sports that at times pays to go backwards. We like commericals so we can pee or load up on bacon.

Yup. This only proves that most people in America are only concerned about how many points are scored.

Nope. Concerned about fairness and rewarding effort. Mexico killed South Africa today, yet almost lost the game. That's ridiculous.

Like many Americans, I watched this crap and will now happily go back to my sports where turf is earned (NFL), there is strategy that actually pays off (baseball), or where athleticism simply rules (basketball).

You can keep hockey.

Better than 4-5 hrs of baseball for the same score.

Here's my main beef with soccer. It's really amazing the way some of these guys can stop the ball, redirect it, use their bodies (or heads) without using their hands....the skills are very impressive. But for what? The games are not decided on one team's ability to outmaneuver the other using the aforementioned skills. They're decided on blind luck most of the time.

Anyone here ever watch indoor soccer?

Baseball = Soccer on TV... both are pretty boring most of the time.

World Cup is a little different because of the stakes... about the only baseball I ever watch is the World Series, same reason... and I played baseball from the time I could walk until after I graduated high school.

Regular season MLB or MLS or any other soccer or baseball league equal... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz for me.

    • This is that desperate way of thinking. Yes, can Ward and Sanders might be the top two quarterbacks going into next year‘s draft but that is only a small part of the rebuild phase for this team. You’re talking about switching back to a 43 defense and going out and trying to get a 43 edge rusher, but we’re gonna have a hard time finding that in free agency versus going after them in the draft. There is a lot more defensive players on the front end of this upcoming draft and there is decent offensive players. So if we can get into bed with a team that falls in love with one of these quarterbacks we can potentially get a hall of draft picks if we trade back.  Then we start building that defense and a gap quarterback for the time being. There is a lot more quarterbacks that are worth more in the 2026 draft and there is this year‘s draft so if we play the game and keep building this team up that way a rookie quarterback can succeed in year one and not hope to succeed in your two or three with a  treacherous year one. A good run game and a good defense helps a rookie quarterback extremely. Hopefully with Brooks, the run game will be secured and if we use next year‘s free agency and draft to secure the defense, a rookie quarterback in 2026 can be successful.
    • Of all the fancy tools used in player evaluation, it ALWAYS comes down to the eye test. Far, far from perfect but it is still the most reliable test going. This team under Tep has repeatedly ignored that one most. Crucial. Aspect. It’s like they lose the forest through the trees. Analytics works… when the data inputs are complete. Problem is that there will always be variables that are unique to that particular situation.
    • No, we don't need to play him anymore.  It is like needles to the eyes to constantly see him just suck, it reminds us more and more of the debacle we are in. Just cut bait with the bum. he is not NFL starter material.
