Former Southern California running back Reggie Bush, who the NCAA's investigation at USC into possible violations focused on, released a statement Thursday in response to reports of a two-year postseason ban and scholarship reductions for the Trojans, which were just confirmed as the NCAA made its report public.

PUNISHMENT: USC gets two-year postseason ban as just part of punishment

"I have a great love for the University of Southern California and I very much regret the turn that this matter has taken, not only for USC, but for the fans and players. I am disappointed by today's decision and disagree with the NCAA's findings. If the University decides to appeal, I will continue to cooperate with the NCAA and USC, as I did during the investigation. In the meantime, I will continue to focus on making a positive impact for the University and for the community where I live."

It's odd that Bush would say he'll 'continue' to cooperate with the NCAA and USC, especially after he settled two civil suits with people who were reported to have evidence that he was given improper benefits while playing at Southern California. Settling the cases prevented Bush from having to give a deposition in the lawsuit filed by sports marketing agent Lloyd Lake, who alleged that he gave more than $300,000 in cash and gifts to Bush and his family during the running back's college career.

Also after the NCAA's ruling is the question of whether or not Bush will be able to keep the Heisman Trophy he won in 2005 as a junior with the Trojans.

to add, USC will also lose 30 scholarships and could lose their National Title.

I'm perhaps the biggest SC homer on here and I think he is lying however if you go by previous cases the punishment SC received in no way fits the crime and I cant see any way the two year ban is upheld.....

Where there is smoke there definitely is fire,.

And if you spend 5 years investigating you are bound to find something....face it bro do you honestly believe that the top schools in the nation don't turn and look away when this stuff happens.....just look at the University of Florida's arrest record under Urban Meyer.....

I dont eve really follow college football and I think its messed up that kiffen will get screwed outta this

Kiffin was part of the staff that set back and let all of this poo happen, so I don't feel bad for him in the least.

What this really does is hurt the kids. Make the coaches/university pay a huge fine, strip them of wins and/or their National Championship, take the Heisman away from Bush. The kids that are currently in the USC football program don't deserve this though.

I think the pressure to win makes some people turn the other way. Even when you are watching it is hard to stop unscrupulous agents or boosters from cutting deals with impressionble kids who are lured with all the money.

Still there are lots of programs where I don't think this thing happens. Or at least not to this extent. The lying and coverup attempts are where I have the problem. People make mistakes and poor decisions, but when they go to great lengths to cover things up, they lose all respect in my book/

    • First of all, loved this video. I watched last night.   I normally not one to do, I told you so's,,,,, Most around here hated the fact Dan Morgan was promoted to GM.  In my eyes, he had paid his dues, and had earned the opportunity to run a team.  I dont know how anybody can be against him at this point.  He lives and breathes football.  He absolutely is the right man for the job.  I also have to give him credit for bringing Dace C, and Tillis.  This franchise has the best front office it has ever had, IMO.  And under Teppers ownership.     Keep pounding Dan.
    • He’s blowing up with the ladies on the tikitok
    • I met him at an OTA when he was rookie.  I liked him, and so did my small children.  I got a photo of him with my kids, and his nylon stretch shirt was ripped off his shoulder and down his side.  I remember thinking, "This was an OTA.  He must have been battling so hard (going full speed) that the OT grabbed him and ripped off his shirt."   Normally, there is a "rule" that you stop when you are not in full pads when the other player shows that he controlled you or is in position to--like pulling up and not hitting the RBs.  I got the feeling that he was going full throttle.  Just speculation, but it was consistent with what we would learn about him.
