Why is the game being shown on espn and WCNC?

Because its local to NC and will be played locally on the usual(fox) channel. Its also a national game, and will be played on ESPN.

Chuck (new episode) airs at 2pm Tuesday, Heroes (don't watch, don't know if it's new) airs at 2pm Wednesday on WCNC-36 for Charlotte area prople who watch these shows and have DVRs. I watch Chuck (Yvonne = best looking Aussie/Pole ever).

Yeah, but I can't remember them ever doing this before, except for that Thursday night game on the NFL Network last year, but that's completely different from MNF.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you...having options is always good.
