This. Congrats on the win razzy but if it's tied they're not getting those long ball 1 vs 1 type plays anymore. England had to play from behind and constantly press. If it's tied we can play our game. I'm not sure what game England won either from a bad call.

As for the whole video replay argument....I am all for it and the way most games go now...if it's a questionable goal, the replay could already be done by the time the players are finished celebrating. If it's like England and Germany, you let the game go on and if there is clear video showing the call was missed, as there was in this situation, you stop play and add the extra 30 seconds or whatever onto the end of the half. Video replay for most soccer plays can happen in 10 - 15 seconds with the cameras and the technology!

England had just scored remember and that 2nd goal would have pulled it even....huge momentum swing. Who knows what might have happened....and this coming from someone cheering for Germany for that game!

The referee didn't see the ball cross the plain of the goal and the keeper was quick to ****** it out. It happens all the time.

I do, and it does....but that doesn't make it right Del!

Hockey replays can fricken take forever...but if you are the team or cheering for the team that gets screwed without the replay...it's worth the time!

Did I question the call? No. It was OBVIOUSLY wrong, but the game is in the dark ages (and refuses to change that fact) so this kind of thing happens all the time. It's why all the Americans crying about perceived injustices against them in the Group Stages made me laugh. It's part of the game and you have to accept that.

I was stating that just because Germany won 4-1 does not mean the goal was meaningless. It occurred during a pivotal point in the match - if the teams go in at half time level it's a completely different ball game.

and I know it's different for smaller tournaments and league play, but there are hundreds of cameras on every inch of the pitch in the world cup...wouldn't take long to see!

hell...on the England call, I just hit the back button once on the PVR and could see immediately that it was clearly in the net!

The only thing I would be up for is adding two more refs behind the goals.
