I thought we could've scored a couple times, but then again, so could England. We created a good chance in the first half that Jozy probably could've headed in, King (?) did a good job getting his body in the way to prevent Jozy generating any power though.

Cherundolo was massive. Excellent fullback play. Probably my Man of the Match but Howard was deserving as well, you could probably make a case for Gerrard too. He had a good match.

If Defoe is playing we lose. It's plain and simple. Hell if Gabby was playing we would have lost.

Heskey's shot should have been a goal. How you miss that is beyond me.

I am very happy with the point but I feel like Jozy missed a couple of chances.

Agree 100% on the Cherundolo MOM. I also loved Lennon in this game. He was always a threat.

Yea, have to wonder how Heskey missed that, but at the same time you have to give Timmy credit for holding it when a lesser keeper would've parried it.

I like him, and I think he adds an extra dimension when he plays well, but Robbie Findlay seemed overwhelmed by the occasion. Maybe Herculez would've been better, he's scoring loads in Mexico.

Oh yea totally. Tim was on today.

I hope Gomez starts on Friday. And then bring Buddle on.

Findlay didn't play that bad, he's got a GREAT first touch, but then looks confused as hell as to what to do with the ball.

Buddle needs to get stronger. He had a breakaway and just let Carragher bitch him around.

Findley was used today because of his speed. Unfortunatley he is so small that he gets bullied around against guys like A. Cole and King. The line-up should stay the same as today except for the addition of Gomez for Findley. I think we are really missing Brian Ching right now up top. I wish he would have gotten in better shape after his injury.

Nontheless, I believe the Defense will stay the same, we may see Spector get some time against Slovenia. Torres may also see some time, he looked very good in the tune up vs. Switzerland and he and Gomez work very well togethor as they both play for Pachuca in Mexico.

My Projected Line-Up vs. Slovenia

G- Tim Howard

D- Steve Cherundolo (Jonathan Spector)

D- Jay DeMerit

D- Oguchi Onyewu

D- Carlos Bocanegra

M- Landon Donavan

M- Ricardo Clark (Jose Torres)

M- Michael Bradley

M- Clint Dempsey

F- Jozy Altidore

F- Herculez Gomez (Edson Buddle)

My Key Subs vs. Slovenia

F- Edson Buddle

M- Jose Torres

D- Jonathan Spector

I can't watch anymore because of the stupid horns. Flipped on Algeria game and heard that awful noise drowning out the crowd and announcers. Turned it right off.

I don't understand how that is a cultural thing and why the local fans choose to do this for a game involving two random teams.

I ran this by two of my SA friends and they got all pissy.

wtf

The vuvuzelas don't bother me, actually. I can see how they would annoy people though.

But South Africa is a baby sporting wise. Like we have our baseball chants and songs, and England has soccer and rugby chants and songs, South Africa hasn't had a chance to develop those things yet, so they have those horns.

Thankfully they haven't discovered thundersticks yet.
