FYI davis is not one of the three players the Panthers can't replace

He has potential but as far as production it hasn't been that wonderful. He played only 7 games last year. He will play none this year. In 2008- he had a very good year but honestly before that he was average at best. My point is that people freak out as if we we are going to lose a probowler and he hasn't been. Outside of 2008 we haven't really had great production out of him. This is his sixth year in the league. At the end of that he will have contributed a total of 327 tackles, 9.5 sacks, and 1 INT. Not exactly stellar. Compare that to Beason who in 3 years has 419 tackles, 3 sacks and 7 Ints.

I told you before but will reinterate it again since you seem to be slow. I didn't freak out over one player but nine of them (8 when Brayton was resigned). Any one guy is replaceable outside of Peppers but not when you are replacing so many guys at once. With Thomas it now makes 9 starters we will be replacing from last year's team. To assume we won't have any more injuries and that all of the new guys plus all of their backups will perform as well as last year is a huge reach at this point. At this point 3 of the 4 linemen and 2 of the 3 linebackers have little expereince compared to who they replaced. That means of our front seven- 5 are relatively new. And many of their backups who will play in the rotation are either new to the NFL or very inexperienced.

But I won't rehash ancient history just once again point out the obvious to those for which it seems still obtuse.

You're the one who seems to be slow. We have now lost a grand total of 2 hard to replace players...Peppers and TD. That's it. End of story.

As far as I'm concerned, having a good solid QB pretty much makes up for every one of those other losses. Take away all of those INT's from last year, and all of a sudden Meeks' defense looks a whole lot better, with or without guys like Kemo, Lewis and Harris.

Yeah I am the slow one that back in March worried that cutting Diggs would cause us problems particularly if Davis has a problem with his rehab. I am the slow one that worries about the same thing for Ivy and Louis on the D line. Particularly in light of the 8 starters we cut. The only guys we will miss are Thomas, Peppers, and other guy that goes down, or the vet we cut when his replacement doesn't cut it.

Enough of that though. As I learned from my children, trying to presage the future isn't appreciated or respected. And no one likes it when you are right. Especially when the outcome was negative. Even you hope you are wrong and that your worries don't come true.

Tis the season to guzzle the Koolaid, raise the mugs and toast our success this season. Too soon and often suddenly and unexpected do we discover whether our confidence was justified or foolhardy. Let my concerns about injury and recovery, experience and leadership fall on deaf ears. Tis the season.

Lets hope you are right and Davis and Peppers are the only ones we will miss. That would be ideal.

Realistic?

Don't bet the house but hope for the best seems apropos

How sweet. I get one guy claiming I don't verify my stats and another whining that I did but should have based my post purely on memory.

Reality = I recall thinking during the season that we could have got more with that 3rd round pick than we got from Mr. Anderson. Sure, I looked up his stat line prior to posting and saw what I expected. IMO, your post seemed intended to inflate his production. Sorry if I misinterpreted.

Now, I didn't 'whine' that you shouldn't verify stats before posting them... I simply said I didn't have to look them up to make my post, I clearly and vividly remembered the sacks against New Orleans and I wasn't intending to inflate his performance... I was just saying I believe he has performed at a starter level and excelled the more he has played and he proved that with extended time last year.

I'm not happy about TD going down, but I believe in Anderson.

Yeah and how did the team do??? Good for Moose, but this isn't about individual stats.

LOL how did the team do with him last year or the year before that....

QB,C,MLB,and NT are the most valueble pos on the field in that order. A good QB can make a bad WR look good but a good WR can't make a bad QB look good.

Ahhh, but I've seen the game, twice. And I recall seeing anderson getting a sack, and all around playing well. It does puzzle me a lil bit why nfl.com would be inaccurate, but I'm also not going to lose any sleep over it.

Go back and watch the game. Then you can neg rep me some more for showing you up again.

go watch the giants game again.

Sorry that nfl.com missed one. That isn't my fault. Go back and watch the giants game, that way you and your bitch friend can neg rep me again.

A- I've never negrepped anybody

B- I would have never brought up the fact that you were mistaken if you hadn't (wrongly) gone out of your way to be an ass about correcting someone in the first place. Maybe you should go watch the game again. Perhaps the play in question never happened because of another penalty or some other circumstance?

You are correct, in that you didn't neg rep me. You are still wrong.

You said I went out of my way to be an ass, when all I stated is he was wrong.

I guess pointing out incorrect statements is being an ass. I personnally get annoyed when people post stuff as being factual, when it isn't. It happens on a pretty regular basis around here. I have also seen the game multiple times. The last time being recently, and even noting to myself the play of anderson. the sack I am talking about, was impressive enough that I want to know whom made it, as it wasn't someone I immediately recognized. So I backed it up and watched it again to catch who it was. Anderson.

I gave you neg rep because you acted like an ass and would again if I could since you have convinced me that it's not an act. The official stats come only from regular season games. Stats from pre-season do not count. The only sack by Anderson against the Giants was a pre-season game. DOES NOT COUNT. Grow up, accept the FACT that you are wrong, and move on.

Your poost went a ways beyond simply stating that you believed I was wrong. You were wrong and now choose to continue to insist otherwise even when the facts have been presented. Your obviously faulty memory and absurd opinion does not trump official stats.

Outside of the obvios ones like Moore, Smith ,and Beason, the guy I think we can't do without this year is Leonard Louis. We need a nosetackle if we are going to run a 4-3 under. That should highlight the other tackle spot playing 3 technique and the end playing 5 technique on the weak side. The 4-3 under allows the Will to make plays and the SAM dto line up on the TEs. Our defense has been built for this scheme.

If Louis doesn't come back 100% we will have to do the best with what we have, but we won't be nearly as .effective

You obviously got your panties in a bunch.

I love how you assume so much. That's alright. I really don't care what you think of me..

I have no problems admitting when I'm wrong. All I asked was to watch the game if you don't believe me. Obviously you don't care to. Just admit it, and walk away from it. You are thre one who is still talking out of your ass about me and my memory. Your choice.

I have the game if you like to watch it. Will even supply the food and beer.

And yet, I'm the ass. Y'all wouldn't know an asshole if it smacked ya upside the head.

I would love to believe no mistakes are ever made when posting of the stats, but video evidence trumps it all.
