Have you experienced anything unexplainable/supernatural?

Dude, how did that thread not get more responses? That was a great read; I really enjoyed it.

We've debated on here about religion quite a bit, but after reading that I really think you and I have more in common. I, too, was embittered with organized religion at an early age and turned away from it. Yet I've always felt part of a bigger whole, and -- though it's such a cop-out in this day and age -- I consider myself to be a spiritual person.

The only difference is that I've been going to church pretty regularly with my wife (previously my girlfriend) for the last three years or so, and I've actually met some very good people. Christians who actually follow the teachings of Christ. Sure, there are some of your typical hypocrites, but you'll find them in any possible belief system you can imagine.

I think it's pretty amazing that you received a direct answer to your prayer. I pray pretty regularly, but never have I "heard" a response. There have been times when I pray and that prayer is answered in a pretty astonishing way, but I've never felt like I had communicated.

Anyway, just wanted to say I enjoyed that post. Now back to talking about real ghosts.

I don't think SLJ's problem is with Christians. I think it's with the lack of evidence that supports Christianity. Maybe I'm wrong or speaking on something I shouldn't be.

I've never had any ghost stories or ufo experiences, but I have had major deja vu my entire life. Deja vu being when something happens you feel like you have already been there and done that.

Also recently I have had these dreams called false awakenings. They sound pretty harmless in that you think you are awake when you are still asleep, but let me tell you some pretty trippy stuff happens when your mind enters this state of awarness. Most of the feelings I have are so vivid and violent that I can't describe to you how I felt when I was having them. It was like I was a newborn and had no idea what was going on. I also have felt while sleeping, something grab my throat and try to crawl into my body through my mouth, but hey its probably just my twisted mind making it up.

Sidenote but when I get really high I always have this same theory. When you are stone cold sober you see the world through one perception. When your drunk you have another perception, sleeping another perception, when your high you have another and so forth. I imagine it as if each time you mind enters a new state its like putting on a pair of differently tinted glasses. Some things you can only see when you have the right pair of glasses on. The point of this is that people always joke about when they are high crazy stuff happens. But I am not kidding crazy stuff really does happen. I have a million stories of random occurences that are borderline scary. People say oh thats just because you are high your an idiot, but I am convinced that this crazy stuff happens all the time we just don't have the right mind perception to see it happening. This would explain ghosts and ufo sightings. Maybe we can't see those things or hear them unless we gear our mind into the correction perception. Thats why we dont see ghosts all the time and why some people do and some don't. Its obviously not an exact science. For this reason I don't doubt anything that you guys have said.

That's not a theory, it's reality. ;)

Nah, but I do get what you're saying. I've never done drugs, but I've always sort of had the desire to try something hallucinogenic.

I think there are some people who are just much more apt to perceive these things as well, without the use of drink or drugs.

I have a supernatural one that will blow you guys away;

When I was in Central America doing nefarious things in the name of democracy I saw a real life zombie type thing that to this day I nor any of my teammates can explain. What happened was that the FMLA had snatched a village leader from one of the ‘vils in our AO. They knew we were active in the area and apparently tortured him to death in an attempt to get intel on us. This particular elder had no knowledge we were there so he held out until he died.

They (FMLA) dumped his body on one of the trails and we were called to investigate. Our medic checked him out and confirmed he was not alive. But, one of the Brujas (witch doctor, for lack of a better term) said he could do something to save him. I felt the body and it was cold but hey, who knows.

They planned a “resurrection ceremony” for that night and we were invited to attend but our orders were to find the bad guys and exact some fierce revenge. This elder was supposed to play a major role in getting support for our activities and the spooks were ticked off. We had free reign.

When we got back to the ‘vil the next morning, there he was, alive talking and eating breakfast. Holy crap! I felt the biggest chill run down my back and I have to admit, I was legitimately scared. I was raised catholic but I know this dude wasn’t the bible guy. I shook his hand and it was warm. When we asked what went on, we were told that these things are possible and he was not a zombie. In fact as time went on, we got to know him and he told us that he felt fine. He said it was like his spirit went to the jungle and waited to see if the people loved him enough to bring him back. He also said that the jungle takes care of those who believe and he would “follow” us on some of the ops we would do. He would even give us feedback on how we could use the jungle to our advantage.

Apparently since we were helping the “people” the jungle protected us.

I have another story about that…
