Panthers LB Thomas Davis tears another ACL

Why are some of you complaining that he is still getting $3 million even though he was injured? The guy just lost a hell of alot more money than that trying to bust his ass to get back on the field for the panthers this year. Nobody is going to give him anything close to the $50 million he would have made now that he is damaged goods. His $3 million salary this year is the least the panthers owe him for what he's been through.

The complaints were all a weak attempt to blame the FO for letting Davis sign his tender after he was injured despite the fact that they had no cloice in the matter. The Fox and Hurney haters try and turn anything into a complaint even accidents and unforeseen misfortunes.

Exactly so after the injury, they should have rescinded his tender. It can be done and it was done by Jacksonville on Clint Ingram.

It wasn't the same. Ingram was tendered and then it was withdrawn in April before minicamp and OTAs. He wasn't injured in 2010 but 2009. Once Davis was injured in 2010 his tender can't be rescinded due to injury and the Panthers were on the hook.

Alright thanks for clearing everything up for me, and it's not that I hate the front office. It's more of I want every penny to count. I could care less what Hurney and Fox have to say in the situation because Thomas Davis is more likely to be make next year than they are, and all the people out there that think just because some of us are upset that we hate TD, well do me a favor and Shut The Hell Up!!! I love the guy to death, but I believe every man should have to work for his keep. Any who, it is a devastating blow and no one can replace Davis but everyone can strive to be more like him.

Why worry about Richardson spending money? Most of the time teams have insurance on their players so that they don't actually have to pay if guys get hurt, even in a capped year guys on IR don't count against the cap and really the money Richardson saved dumping veterans and raising prices more than make up for the 3 million Davis will get. I can't feel sorry for Richardson really.

man this almost seems to coincidental that the man tears his ACL the day after he signs his contract. Not accusing him of anything but maybe another person in a simliar situation realizes they cant play the way they did after the first injury and goes a little hard on it as to ensure they can feed their family for another year.

So I guess you dont think employees should get paid workers comp when they get hurt on the job since they're not technically earning their keep? TD was injured on the job and deserves to be compensated for it especially now that he wont have the chance to get that big time contract he was eventually going to get.

It is goddamn ridiculous to assume that a professional football player would purposely injure himself.

In one post this thread just went from contentious to ridiculous.
