Panthers LB Thomas Davis tears another ACL

Some seriously dumb people in this thread

1. Davis signed an injury waiver before he took part in any team practices. What this does, is protects his contract in case of injury and makes it guaranteed.

2. It is better that he re-torn the same knee NOW, than at any other time. In fact it is better than tearing the other knee, which is often the case. This is because the knee has been cleaned up properly already and thus there is no scar tissue or arthritis setting in. Makes the whole procedure and recovery quicker and easier. They use tendons from cadavers, so just because it has happened this time, it does not mean he has a weak knee. In fact he must have felt it feel good, as most people subconsciously protect their rehabilitating knee and injure the other one

3. Fox & Hurney would not have even made this call. It would have been on the team doctors and most likely Davis' own advisor's. Why should a professional coach have a better understand of the healing process than a doctor...

5. This sucks for TD, but he will recover from this in the same manor he recovered from the first one. Just see it as a prolonged rehab. This might actually mean he is much much stronger and better prepared to play if and when the 2011 seasons happens.

6. Financially this is actually pretty good for the team. After this he will not be demanding a huge contract and interest in him will have waned. Whether we are prepaed to sit around waiting for him though is another story...

Well TD carreer is pretty much over with. I'm sure Panthers number one next year will be ona linebacker to replace TD. I wouldn't be the least surprise if he called it a carreer after this. He want be playing this year. If this lockout happens. Don't expect to see TD back in a Panthers uniform. He is done with us. Time to move on.:cryin:

Because of his injury, any team signing Davis will be taking a big risk, and JR sure isn't taking even any slight risk now days.

Unless Davis signs a cheap 1 year contract extension for 2011, so he can prove he's healthy, and delay going for the big free agent money for a year, his Panthers career may be at a end.
