Saints fan here,

I, and most Saints fans, are sorry to hear about the injury to Davis. We all see him as a real good dude and a good player. I wish him a speedy recovery and hope for him to continue his career next season.

Not bashing you personally because you seem pretty informed and cool...but SR is the laughing stock board of all your rivals us the buccaneers heck even the falcons fans think that place is a complete joke........ you trying to have a intelligent conversation there is beyond impossible there to biased...

The proper thing to do would be to invite him to have intelligent, unbiased conversations here........

You almost get the sense that some people think if they put the front office and coaching staff down a lot, people will think that they know something about football. Personally, I just think people like that know a lot about how to be a jerk and not much else.

This is a really unfortunate thing. It hurts our team, but we have depth to overcome. In that way it's a lot more like when Kris Jenkins got hurt in 2005 than Kemo last year. And it's happened early enough that it won't shake up chemistry on opening day.

We have depth at his position. Anderson played well there last year, and has the speed to excel in Meeks' system. He's not Davis, but he's going to look pretty good there.

We don't need to worry about money. Let Richardson do that--it won't hurt the cap and it keeps the option to keep him around open. I reckon that Hurney knows more about managing a roster and what you should and shouldn't do than all of the negative posters here combined. And the positive posters too... :)

What we need to worry about is whether Davis eventually comes back. I sure hope he does, but if he doesn't at least he gave his best years to Carolina. And at least it wasn't Beason.

Well said. People act as thought the team deliberately let this happen just to piss off the fan base when in reality, it's really just a bad set of circumstances. I'm upset that we're going to lose a great player and a great leader but throwing the front office and training staff under the bus isn't going to change anything.

I do believe we have the time to compensate and if history has shown us anything, our team has been able to manage losses in the LB corps in the past (especially in the Dan Morgan era).

As for TD ever coming back (with us, anyways), I would say there is a good possibly...if this was the Panthers of old. However, given how our off-season has gone so far, I don't see the new Panthers have as much loyalty to TD to give him a couple more years here.

Haha nah it's cool, man. The criticism is definitely understood. I've gotten a few infractions over there for some pretty lame reasons.

With that being said, I definitely look forward to playing you guys this season. The Panthers, no matter if a down year or Super Bowl year, always bring a real tough fight so it will be a good two games. And if there is one team in the NFCS who I wouldn't mind seeing go all the way if we didn't, it would be you guys.

Thomas Davis deserves so much better than this. I think the money means little at this point, his loss in the huddle, on the field and as a part of the Panthers organazation hurts bad. This guy was a class act and the very definition of a pro.

This is the biggest gross overreaction I have ever seen on these boards and that is saying quite a bit. We're going to cut ties with Davis based on this injury when he's only 27 years old..... right on. He's a former first round pick that has really blossomed into quite a player. The knee injuries suck, but he'll rehab this one properly. Careers are not vanquished after two knee operations. It's unlucky, unfortunate, and sad for Thomas who has worked this hard to get himself back in shape to play but this is by no means the type of injury that ends your career at 27.

The only silver lining to this is that the Panthers won't have to pay out the ear to keep him when the time comes, because when he's ready to play again he's going to be wearing Panther blue. No doubt in my mind.

These days, it seems like almost everybody has at least one of these tears. It's the nature of the game. As the ability to recover has improved, the career altering element has decreased. It used to mean a death sentence, now it's just a lost season.

Hell, there is even talk that TD could be available for the Panthers later THIS season if rehab goes as planned. Hilarious how many nancy boys have already called it a career on the kid.
