Just got back from OTA practice today...

Well, who is our best 3 with Davis out? Conner is a good LB coming out of one of the linebacker factories. He is best suited to play the middle. So wouldn't it make sense to play him there, moving Beason outside? Makes sense to me anyways. I'm sure they are going to experiment with many combinations to find out which they like best.

I guess if your choices are Andersen, Connor and Beason than it may make the most sense to put Connor in the middle, but the MLB is the quarterback of the defense and is in a much better position to react and make plays all over the field than an OLB.

I am glad that they are experimenting, this may be good evidence that the Davis injury is serious...

thanx for the update..im starting to get really concerned with moore lately..

ditto this... but to his credit, moore seems to be a game-time guy, not a practice guy. delhomme was the opposite - looked like brady during practice but stunk it up on the field.

i do think clausen will be a legit starter if moore doesn't pull it off.

tis true...and I would rather have a game time guy obviously...they should just stop practicing anyway.

There is no reason to be concerned with Matt Moore. It is June 9. This is the time of year teams work out kinks, get timing down etc...

Concern will come if these things are happening after the first pre-season game.

True, plus Moore has always had a reputation as a poor practice player - right?

Nonetheless, I was concerned with our offense's apparent inability to move the ball through the air. Most of the gains I saw during the 11 on 11 drills came in the form of running plays (w/ no contact) or short dump off passes.

Saw very few mid to deep pass attempts and didn't see anyone connect on the attempts I saw...

Can't say I agree with it. Even if it is minor, (and there is nothing to confirm otherwise, at this point), it would be wise for the Panthers to just hold him out of the rest of OTA's, to make sure he is healed up for the season.

Yup, could just be a case of them preparing for the worst until they know what's going on with Davis's knee.

It sounds like great news about the pass rush up the middle, but it's troubling to hear that Tyler is unable to play yet.

Buckner and Garcia have said on the radio before that the defense is usually ahead of the offense even in Training Camp, so I guess since it is OTAs that it should be even more true.

I remember last year that Buck said that what is bad is when the offense is better than the defense early in camp. That would mean that the offense is really good, or the defense is really bad.

In last years camp they were saying that the offense was outplaying the defense, and it kind of held true. The defense had issues in run stopping until Thomas was added. Also remember that the offense was really bad last year until Moore came in. I will keep that in mind as I see reports from OTAs.

How did the recievers look? Particulary Edwards, Lafell, and Jarret?

Didn't look good or bad to me, didn't see too many catchable balls thrown to them. I can remember Rosario and Barnidge making a few nice grabs in 7 on 7 drills.

Speaking of Rosario, just remembered that I saw allot of 11 on 11 drills where we was lined up as the FB. He seemed to be sharing snaps with Fiametta. I wonder if they're planning on using Rosario as an H-back this year? Would make sense given that they are trying to invigorate the passing game and Rosario has shown the ability to play FB in the past...
