Davis...The News...Heard Here 1st...

To be honest...TD was rushed back by the office. They needed to feed the fans something. Defense was/is still a big question mark. After losing Pep, Harris, Diggs, and Lewis...They needed to slow it down.

And...That came from a reliable source.

GO back and listen to Thomas' interview on Panthers.com posted on May 13th. In it Thomas says that the staff were holding him back from doing some things he wanted to do. Doesn't sound that he thinks they rushed him out at all. Whoever is your reliable source doesn't sound like they got their information from the source itself which was Davis.

And really every team wants their players on the field as soon as poosible. And there is sometimes mistrust between the players and the FO about whether they can play or not. The reason players gets second opinions so often is to make sure their own experts agree with the team doctors who are paid by the team and might be biased. But we really haven't had a player stating that about the Panthers since Jeffers almost a decade ago.

I have no doubt that folks may think that happened, it occurred to people here as well. Proving that is true is something very different.

why wouldnt that be true? i've always heard that there's a ton of pressure to come back after injury .

Stating that the Panthers rushed him back too soon to appease the fans is grounds for a lawsuit and constitutes negligence. To even make the statement and represent it as fact is libelous. That is much different from saying that the FO was anxious to get him back as soon as possible. By reporting opinions as facts you start down a slippery slope where people take the opinion as fact when I suspect it would be widely disputed and not just because they might get in trouble. Doctors and trainers all have professional standards and ethics and are subject to lawsuits and what not for non professional conduct. I find it very suspect that they would bring him back early for something as frivolous as appeasing the fans.

And let's not forget that Panther fans have deep pockets, so Jerry stands to win a fortune.

Maybe it is just me but I didn't think that most folks wanted Davis to come back early. If he was back by training camp, I would have thought that everyone would have been happy. Hard to know who all these fans were that needed appeasement. From what I read or heard about, most fans seemed to be more worried it was too soon. Then again I never seem to move in the right circles so what do I know?????

Well I'm going to skip the 2012 season, as we all know the Apocolypse will occur some time that year. So while you fools are drinking beer and having fun rooting for the Panthers, I'll be watching the skys. Staring away at the clouds... night after night... totally sober... and I'll be as sane for skipping the 2012 season as megadeath078 is for skipping the 2010 season.
