Picking a te in the first round is a wasted pick.  Picking one in the top10 is trying to be a poverty franchise.  Dont overthink this go defense

If the dude can be a true #1 option, and I think he can be, then it's not a wasted pick or trying to be a poverty franchise. It's taking a game changer, which the Panthers need.

Since 2000 24 tight ends have been drafted in the first round.  4 in the top ten.   By all means please tell me which te was worth taking from that list.   Yeah I thought so.

If we take a te at pick 8 there the fans should burn ericsson stadium to the ground

I have been saying if McMillian was there at 8 I would take him for weeks.

Higgins is the better option but he really has little reason to want to come here unless we are willing to outbid the entire rest of the NFL.

Dang I always get you and John snow mixed up, sorry bro. Getting a pass catcher is the smartest play the Panthers can make. That means either draft Tmac at #8 or draft defense stud at 8 and hope a stud TE falls to 57(its very possible). In either case, use the remaining picks on D and add one RB(deep class) in 4th or 5th. That's the solution and best out come. If both those paths fail, you can not do wrong by going full BPA, they need everything and depth everywhere...

Vernon Davis jumps off the list and Kellen Winslow was pretty good. But let's take a look at the other top ten guys. Since I haven't seen most of these guys play because I haven't paid attention to non Panther games in years, I'll look at stats and games played.

Pitts? Great rookie year, one injured year, and two iffy years. I'd say he hasn't been worth a top ten pick.

Hockenson? Lots of injuries but has gotten better every year until this past season. I'd say worth the pick.

Ebron? Injured and never really produced for Detroit. Not worth the pick.

Davis? As I said, jumps off the list and more than worth the pick.

Winslow? Worth the pick.

If you look at the rest, it's a mix like every other position with several guys that will probably end up in the HOF such as Miller, Lewis, and Clark. That's if they're not already in it.

I think Warren is one of the few first round talents in this draft. This draft seems really light at the top, but good for overall depth. And Lord knows, good depth will be starters on this roster.

This is also one of the deepest positions in this draft, so unless he is Bowers 2.0, it's probably a bad pick.

There has to be no question he is an elite TE.

Otherwise you look as foolish as Atlanta did with Pitts.

Winslow was worth a top 10???

He is right, the history of top 10 TE's is pretty bad.

Warren has improved a lot over his time at PSU and made a massive leap this past season while shouldering the load of their offense. So yeah, he looks to be an elite TE prospect. And that's all you can go by until he starts playing in the NFL.

I said what I said.

Yeah, mostly because of injuries. But I'm sure that could be said for the majority of picks regardless of position.
