We use to make these in my back yard as a kid in the '70s. I just told my mother about it and she asked "Where was I when this was going on?" I said "Obviously, not around." We called them Polish Cannons and would make teams and fire them at each other.

This thread made me realize how underarmed at work I really am. Looking around my immediate desk area the best i can come up with are:

A medium-sized fire extinguisher: Light enough to swing quickly, massive enough to knock some out.

Scissors: Self-explanatory

Decent-sized flat head screwdriver: See scissors

Spare USB/Ethernet cables: Could potentially be used to choke someone.

I also have a couple of the really big masterlocks that could add some serious damage to a punch if held/swung correctly.

Although, i'm not confident in any of these. I think i'll bring a gun to work tomorrow........
