I have successfully made a blowgun out of rolled paper and masking tape that shot darts made out of push-pins with paper tails... It worked from a distance of over 30 feet accurately...

We would take the small tube from coat hangers, a tip of a shoe string with a needle stuck thru it laced with Lysol(all we had access to as kids) and shoot each other.
