What are my options for Internet in Charlotte

I pay $112 for the 12 Mbps internet and digital TV with DVR and HD package. I am not in a contract though, so that might seem a little high to some of you.

It seems like the options are limited. ATTs website says UVERSE is not available for my address. I can only get ATTs 1.5Mbps service, and thats not enough for me. As far as I know, those are the only 2 options I have. Seems like BS to me for a bigger city such as Charlotte to only be able to offer 2 options, one of which is a measley 1.5 Mbps option.

My mom used to have Windstream before she moved to Annapolis. It was alright for her, I think it was just 6mb/s.

Im pretty sure since TWC owns the cables lines going into my apartment complex and ATT owns the phone lines that those are my only 2 choices. That just stinks.

Clear is only wireless, and I use my internet for gaming, thats why I was inquiring.
