The Comprehensive Argument for the Panther's success in 2010

If you're gonna write anything longer than 2 lines, you have to put "Madden", "D'Angelo Williams", or " Top 5". Otherwise, you can't hold any attention around here.

Bacon or boobs always help. Bacon and boobs is an instant winner.

Not sure why everyone views the Saints as untouchable. I don't care that they won the Super Bowl, they're a division rival and we are historically successful against them. Even this past season in the middle of a terrible stretch of football for us and with Delhomme still under center we almost beat them on the road.

The media knows we have beason, williams and stewart.

I know many people say hey "under the radar" and try to play it off like its a good thing- hog wash!! I care about our teams perception and the amount of respect we get.

My main reason I want the media to respect us is so that I can see more of us.

It would be nice to see the Panthers continually on NFL Access etc..not just a comment here or there.

Good writeup, I also find it funny that the national sports media is predicting doom and gloom for us.

When you boil it down, we are a 12-4 team who only lost one playmaker on both sides of the ball while getting rid of a turnover machine at QB....

Loss of Jake/Peppers = wash.

As much as everyone wants to believe that all that went bad last season rested on the shoulders of Jake, it just wasn't so. And as much as everyone wants to believe that Moore is an all-pro just waiting to be discovered, well...

IF the defense starts out where it left off.

IF a number two receiver emerges from our collection of rookies and disappointments

IF Moore can win when the defense surrenders a lot of points

IF the defensive line can generate pressure

IF we stay healthy. That's the biggest IF, of course

IF the OC gets struck by lightening and starts calling runs against teams weak versus the run, and passes against teams weak versus the pass (remember Buffalo last year?)

IF Special Teams actually resemble their name

IF Fox coaches like he has job security, and convinces his staff to do the same

THEN we win more than we lose, and probably go to the playoffs.

In reality, no one knows what the fug is going to happen next season. Peter King has us ranked #8, and then this *** has us at #30. Personally I would take the average of 30 and 8 and have us at around #19. That even seems low to me, but we do have to remember that we lost our best pass rusher, and we have a very unexperienced QB. Sooooooo, I suppose we are going to be disrespected and under the radar until we start bashing the fug out of teams to start off. Wait till we start off 5-0 or something, and all these tards in the media will be all over our nuts once again.

Honestly, with our schedule, I can't see our record being any worse than 9-7. If we can get production from our other WR's, the offense could be top 10 easily. The biggest question is the D-line, but Meeks worked wonders with the defense in his first season last year...with another off-season to develop the system, one of the best LB groups in the league and a top 10 secondary, I think our defense will be in the upper half of the league. And that's a conservative prediction. If Charles Johnson and Everette Brown progress like they have the potential to do, we could have an elite defense.

Meeks did pretty well patching together D-Lines in Indy with a bunch of dudes like we have. Everette Brown is pretty much built just like Freeney, and has the same skill set. If Brayton, Johnson and Brown can get pressure on the QB, and Tank and Irvin can do their jobs in the middle, I think that we will be just fine. We have an outstanding back 7, so really our line just needs to be average.
