I am really tired of people saying Sutton was so good at FB last year.

What all of you are remembering is his runs from the FB position, which he did really well at. His blocking however was sub-par at best. I will give it to him that he did not look horrible and he went in and did what was asked of him. However to say that Sutton looked like an All-Pro is silly.

His first game which was at New Orleans he blocked for D-Will and D-Will ended up with 149 rushing yards. He blocked for D-Will in the game against Miami when he ran for 122 yards. Just in case that hasn't got your attention he blocked for Jonathan Stewart as he racked up 109 yards against Minnesota. However, thats not all he blocked for J-Stew when he piled up 120 yards against Tampa Bay. To say that Sutton cannot block would be foolish. Four of the Seven games that Sutton played, one of the backs reached over 100 yards. Only one game was a running back not within 20 yards of 100. Sutton is the whole package. It is time to deal with it.

As the captain of the Tyrell Sutton bandwagon I can't stress enough that he is a viable offensive weapon, not just a blocker. He did not once block for another back his entire time in college (that should say something about his ability to learn and adapt). Nor did he share carries, he was a workhorse HB as well as one of the leading receivers every year.

sutton played "fullback" but was really just shooting the hole and locking up a linebacker. he didn't really do anything complicated.

I don't think that anyone is saying that Sutton is not a good football player. He is a hell of a RB (a lot better than Goodson), and I hope that the team carries him on the roster. If they have to do it by listing him as a FB then that is fine.

I just don't think that he is best suited to be a FB. If you go back and watch the tape, his assignment was pretty much "hit the hole and put a helmet on the first guy you see not wearing a Panthers jersey". It worked pretty well for him.

He is not a full time traditional FB that Fox would like to use. Fox likes to use his FB like a pulling Guard. Fiammetta fits that bill.
