Help me out here:

I've seen a lot of articles that state that the reason why Clausen is the perfect fit in Carolina is because he practically ran the same offense with Weis at ND.

If I am not mistaken, didn't Weis run the West Coast Offense at ND and in NE?

So if that was the case and we are practically running the same offense as Weis, are we not running a hybrid version of the WCO?

we don't run any version of the west coast offense, so no. and bradford is rated above clausen purely based on madden politics

I never said we did run it, I knew we ran a power run game... I just don't get why the media is comparing our offense to Weis's offense when we don't run same offense

i wouldnt mind accually thbrowing a few westcoast style plays in there every once in a while accually. i just think about the philly eagles back a few years ago, and how westbrook looked so good. i think that deangelo could do some of the pass catching, and yards after catch if he were given an oppertunity. also,, throwing stewart and armanti edwards in there could really be interesting.

whether or not we ever do anything like that, our offense will be pretty dyanamic in the next few seasons, granted we resign guys like kahlil and deangelo.

Thats exactly what they were working on in passing camp last week. 4 wide recievers deep and HB screens

Wies ran a pro style offense at ND same as they run at Carolina. Pound the run and then pass however the running game was never great there so sometimes they would spread it out. They threw a lot of deep balls down the sidelines Clausen will do great for you guys I am happy to see him go there!

A WCO is not synonomous with a 4 wideout receiver formation although most WCO use them. The WCO offense is more a philosophy of how to move the ball. WCOs use short timing passes in place of their running game. Backs are used as often to run short routes in the flats and over the middle as they are to actually run the ball. WCO teams run once they have a lead not to score points like we do.

Weiss ran a pro-style offense that emphasized the ability to run multiple plays out of a few formations. In other words line up in the same formation 3 times in a row but run 3 different plays. The key is to mix things up and exploit mismatches in the defensive scheme once you get up to the line of scrimmage and see what the defense is doing. There are lots of audibles and multiple plays that can be run out of each look so it requires the quarterback to recognize defensives and adlib as they go. Running is a big part of the offense but so is passing vertically.

      yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.

      I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.

      I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
