Tell the vet your llimit beforehand. My cats lived with my aunt for five months a couple of years ago. One of them got really sick and she ended up paying for it. When I got them back (not part of the deal at first), she started sending her vet bills, hint hint hint. They were $2,000.

I'm sorry, but there's no way what she had cost $2,000. My aunt's vet knew he had someone who would pay whatever he charged.
