"Objective" Position Battle Panthers vs Saint

you don't even have a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th wide receiver. smith is getting into his 30s and not what he once was although he's still good. i mean for f**k's sake the guy is trying to find a replacement for himself, he knows the end is near. that is as crazy as me trying to argue we have better rbs.

Not what he once was? He still played like the old Steve Smith last year. The only difference is that he knows that there is talent coming in this year and he is merely trying to be ready when it's time to pass on the torch. From his interviews, I've gathered than he realizes that his time is not over yet, but he is preparing for it.

But yeah, we don't have anything but Smith, but he's still a beast and I haven't seen where he has lost a step.

It is crazy to say we have better WRs than the Saints bit smith hasn't slown down if at all. Having Delhome as a QB is going to dull your shine a little bit.

I don't know... less than 2 years ago he was pretty amazing. 08 season.. he had 1400 yards/70+ receptions. I would say though, he has lost speed the last couple of years or so, but he still is a monster. He still had some good games last year.

Comparing his performances now to 2005 is kinda not right, because then, defenses didn't prepare for him... since it was his big breakout year. Nowadays, with defensive coordinators and everyone, they're making it hard on him to do the damage he can do with double coverage and defense awareness around him. One on one, he's still unstoppable.

Also we had jake still in his nice window of decent performance, the D was also pretty nasty as well.

With a good QB steve puts up better numbers then anybody in the south. But we don't have a better WR core then the saints right now. We come back too the "Known" and "unknown" thing again. Right now the Saint's WR core has done it and been a factor and our WR core hasn't.
