Just wondering why all the hate for Armanti Edwards?

I’m a newbie to this forum but not to other Panthers boards. But I have been reading the comments on here for several years now. I was just wondering why all the hate on here for Edwards. Do you haters want him to fail? What purpose does it serve if he does fail? All it would do was make the haters feel better about themselves but it hurts the TEAM in the process. Whether you wanted him or not we drafted him, he is on the team now, and if you were a true fan you want everyone to do the best they can for the team so we can win. Isn’t that what is most important in the end? I hope the kid turns out to be a great player or even a good player. He seems to have a great heart and only wants to play the game, no matter what they ask him to do. This seems to put him way ahead of a lot of the “I’m only out for me” group of idiots that are on every team around the league. I would take one player any day who is excited just to be able to play over a dozen who are only in it for themselves. I hope Edwards succeeds, but if he doesn’t, I don’t believe it will be from lack of effort. If he is successful, however, I only hope all the people who have been putting him down since before the draft will have the guts to come on here and admit they were wrong. Only time will tell on both counts. Good Luck to the Panthers for the upcoming season and good luck to all the players on the team, including Armanti Edwards.

Well not really, because the word "hating" has hit mainstream American where you can find it being used on Sports Center, Local Fox stations, and commentators from all ethnic backgrounds. For future references pm me to get an idea of what I mean.

OK…OK…I give….I was wrong. There was no putting down of Edwards ever on this forum, just of the front office, the school I attended and played at in the 80’s and the level of competition Edwards played against. I believe one member called it “4 more years of high school”. I guess that ticked me off a little since there have been plenty of successful players in the NFL from FCS (1-AA) football and there are several college divisions below FCS before we get to 4 more years of high school. I apologize to everyone on here and you don’t have to worry, I won’t be putting a post on here anytime soon since I leave in two weeks for my third tour in Afghanistan. I’ll carry my Panthers banner proudly with me and hope for a great season.

I already dug up my Armanti thread to embarrass hater folk; we're in this thing together now. Even scouting heads are guilty of poor judgment from time to time. Mike "Burger-Time" Williams was once a consensus top-15, and I agreed.

I absolutely hated the trade for him but I dont hate Edwards the player. I still cant beleive we gave up so much compensation for a guy that Hurney admitted himself was a project player. I hope like hell he pans out but I have serious doubts. Im certainly not going to buy the hype til he proves himself. We heard all the hype about Mike Goodson last year only to be disappointed. This could be potentially worse though since we gave up a potential high 2nd rounder for him.

So as of right now Im saying New England absolutely destroyed the panthers on this trade until Edwards proves otherwise.
