Well, just think about the amount of audio and extra content that could be added to the game with larger discs. I think the Xbox is holding back the expansion and development of games. I hope the next generation of consoles have some expandable form of storing games (such as flash chips and such - which can range from 2GB to 16GB, etc.).

At least the NFL should have 2 developers.. kinda like the COD series, so each game has nearly 2 years of development.

I blame the NFL, not EA. There has been consistent hate on EA for every aspect of their company over the past couple of years and it has gotten old. People "penalize" them for making smart business decisions.

NFL could share some blame I agree for sure but the problem with the whole it's good business logic is something like this; a grocery store could charge you 10 bucks for a gallon of milk if they bought out every store within 100 miles and it would be great business but just not right if they cared about people. The government wrongly charges its citizens for many things that are bullshit, but its good business, but its wrong.

You can't simply always do what is good for business if you really care about what you are doing. I am not saying EA isn't making money on it and it's not great business that is not the argument. But if a company cares about quality and my main points games them self its just a wrong thing to do if they really care about games (which they don't obviously). People do wrong things all the time to make a buck this one is just on a huge huge scale. I am a huge gamer so maybe I just look at it as being really f**ked up.

In fact I can not WAIT for the day the contract is up and hopefully not resigned to play another football game by someone else finally. The MLB and NBA are perfect examples of how it should be, multiple games by multiple companies= more chance of a killer sport game.

And who the hell knows if it's the year's beat nfl game since it's the only one. As long as they tell you it is right? Really think about it, do you really want EA to be the only maker of NFL games? Have only ONE NFL game come out a year? I don't think people realize what this means, its Madden and madden only, never a change.

Do remember that the market will balance itself. If a company has bought out the competition and is charging $10 for a gallon of milk, most people will likely just not buy it and will buy alternative products. The stores that pop up to offer milk at a lower price will flourish while the one still charging $10 will not.

But my point is that the market will balance itself when others come along with more attractive offers to consumers. In the case of Madden, this is not possible as the NFL sold the rights to EA. I blame the NFL, not EA, for this, as they have artificially stifled any competition and have made EA a monopoly on the NFL gaming market.

Oh lol. I never played any SCE's NBA games. I think they could make a good football game though.

Played the Backbreaker demo, some interesting stuff but the camera angle is a game killer as far as I'm concerned (hope you can change the camera angle?)

I play madden in part because of the NFL brand, so while I might fool around with a game like Backbreaker or APF2K8 it could never replace madden unless it had the NFL brand.

Some are doing a pretty good job of replicating teams. Hopefully someone will get all the teams made and compiled and upload them for USB download. The problem seems to be that you can't just upload 1 team, when you upload your file its EVERY team you have created in 1 file.. So uhh yeah way to cock block our efforts of getting around the license when you know thats the ONLY REASON WE WOULD CARE ABOUT YOUR GAME. :banghead:
