I love how everyone keeps bringing up Shaq's rings when they talk about Kobe.

Because Kobe has won a ring since Shaq left. And Shaq didn't win one in Miami.

You guys must have long arms to be giving Bean such a long reach around.

Kobe won a ring without Shaq? I don't knock Kobe for that anyway, big deal, not his fault his team was good, like MJ without Pippen.

Kobe takes like a billion shots. Article in ESPN says that during Kobe's 61 point game he was DEMANDING the ball, and when someone took a shot, Kobe got upset about it. That's not very "team" to me. He's still great tho.

Really? Shaq's rings? Like they would have won without Kobe. Like Shaq would have won in Miami without Wade. Bottom line is that you need more than one player to win a championship. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing Kobe's second MVP trophy and 4th NBA Championship trophy come season's end.

What's pertinent to this discussion is Lebron has won ZERO rings. And that won't change this year either.

Kobe hasn't won with anyone else because he hasn't had anyone else. He finally does this year, so there are no excuses if the Lakers don't win.

He's got the same team he had last year and we heard the same excuses. You cant win with a ballhog like Kobe as the focal point of your offense.:D

      Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.

      Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
