Will you miss Peppers or Delhomme more?

Dude, I'm definitely going to miss Jake the most b/c he LOVED playing for us...unlike Peppers. Jake actually cried during his interview after being released, Peppers just suddenly became a jackass, talked about how much he loves Chicago & jacked off in his apartment. I can't wait to play Peppers this season...ugh, loser

Be careful what you wish for. I see Peppers having a big game against his former team.

Anyways, Im one of the few that hopes Peppers will somehow comeback to the Panthers one day and retire a Panther.

Yeah good point. I do have a lot of faith in Gross though so we'll see...if he's still healthy

Yeah. That will be quite exciting to see the 2 clashes for real this time than they do on practice. Hopefully Gross will handle him like he did against Abraham last year one time.

LMFAO @ all of these "miss the player I miss the most or you know nothing about football" posts.

Yes, Jake was a great dude and probably did overachieve. But even if he did overachieve he was still a slightly above average QB at best who had the luxury of throwing to two pro bowl receivers and a strong running game to bail him out when he played poorly which happened more times than people seem to remember. For every game that Jake supposively "won" for us all by himself from 2003-2005 he lost just as many by himself from 2006-2009. Point blank when you evaluate his career as a panther he was an average QB that played on a team with a good defense and had players on offesne that could bail him out to make him look better than he was. Its silly to say that Jake was better than Pep because he won more games for us when he plays the only position that touches the football on every single play unlike a DE who rarely does. There isnt a DE in the NFL that wins games soley by himself so the comparion makes no sense. Peppers has always been one of the best at his position regardless of his supposive lack of desire where Jake for the most part has always been mediocre even if he did a better job slapping his teammates on the asses than Pep did.

Last time I checked, this is a football forum.

So there for, the logical reading of the question is in regards to production and value.

It is easy to read all the hate and jealousy on this forum for pepper. As people claim he didn't want to be here, when in fact he'd still be a panther if just offered him a llil more, but still not as much as the bears paid for him. This is public info that was reported shortly after bears signed him. Peppers still wanted to get paid...and whether you think he is worth it or not, he obviously is worth more than most of you think.

Then y'all like to talk about his effort. I'll be the first to admit he doest have that non stop motor, and isn't a vocal leader. Fact is he's a leader on the field, and an every down de, that most of you obviously have no idea how much effort and energy it takes to be an every down de. Neither do I...but I don't talk out of my ass about it either. Cause he has the ability to be one of the all time greats, many of you hate him for not living up to where you think he should be. Talk about high horses. What a fuging joke. There is no comparison between the two players being talked about.

The question doesn't read who would you rather have as a friend, he a hero to your kids. Give me a break.

Jake is a great guy, and he played better than most thought he could be, for the first few years. He is an average qb with a qunslinger mentality... which means on his bad days, he blew chunks.

Don't let this post stop ya from your ways though. Ignorance is bliss.

I remember a line written about Jake by someone in the local media. To paraphrase, "If you don't like Jake, it isn't him. It's you."

I would still rather have Peppers on the team this year.

I agree with the quote. He is an awesome individual. Just not an awesome player. My feeling about Peppers... I wanted to be with that girl, but she didn't want to be with me. So I had to cut ties with that biatch

I will miss Jake for all the things I wish I had seen in Peppers during his career at Carolina. I will miss the excitement of the Cats with him behind the center, being in the fourth quarter and knowing that if the game was on the line, Jake was going to give 100% of his effort, ability and heart to win the game. I will miss the fact that he loved this franchise and wanted very much to remain a part of this team. He failed in at the end of 2008 and in 2009 and he never made an excuse for any of his failures. But he never had heart failure.

I will miss Pep for all that his freaking talent and his potential that could have been on the field but didn't have the heart and the motor to get it done for 60 minutes every game. I will miss the games where he did show those flashes of his brilliance and the confidence that you knew he was the opponent's nightmare if his game was on.

I don't question Peppers talent because that is off the scale. I just wish he had half the heart and motivation that Delhomme had. I will miss them both but not for the same reasons. I hope we don't suffer for losing them both. I hope we fill the gaps and intangibles they both left holes in.

As a fan, I will miss Delhomme for his spark and drive to win and I know how much he loves this team. I will miss Peppers too but I do not think he will miss this team or fanbase one damn bit. It makes the choice easier for me.
